William Ruto Responsible for Kenyan Violence: Odinga and Kibaki Must Take Action

Please make sure that any submission is free of typos and well-written. We do not guarantee publication, but all work will be considered. We respect the seriousness of the events going on in Kenya and encourage a productive and enlightening dialogue.

This is a statement from People Foundation, Inc, California. Over the last couple of days, we have seen Hon. Raila Odinga come to terms with the escalating loss of human lives in our country, and has consistently softened his stand towards a peaceful resolution to the current crisis. One thing that has aroused our curiosity is the posture that William Ruto has taken in the whole reconciliation process. We got concerned and embarked on a quick investigative research to unearth what is driving Ruto not to explore peaceful resolution to the social-political crisis going on in our country.

Let the truth be known that William Ruto is the man sponsoring the genocide operations going in Rift Valley through the Karamajong Guerilla Fighters, a militia with operations similar to the old known militia "the Shiftas" that fought Moi in the 1980s. Reliable sources indicate that Karamojong Guerrilla Fighters arrived in city of Eldoret where they mercilessly massacred hundreds of innocent people including women and children.

Recently Ruto was reported to be out of Nairobi, and could not attend the meeting between Raila and Kalonzo. We have established that Ruto was in Eldoret meeting with the Karamojong Guerilla Fighters. Ruto knew that the only way ODM could have access to adequate firepower (KEG) was to engage the Karamojong Guerilla Fighter who are obviously known to possess insurmountable quantities of AK-47, Automatic Rifles and other sophisticated small arms. It is important to highlight the fact that Karamojong communities are cousins with the Luos, and therefore, it is the same militia that is killing people in Nyanza.

It is therefore imperative for the government of the day to take decisive and conclusive action against William Ruto, and the perpetrators of genocide. We cannot afford to see one more live lost. We are also asking Hon Raila Odinga to disassociate himself with William Ruto and speak for peace and return of the nation to normalcy. Who knows whether the judicial process could over turn the ECK decision, and see a re-run of the presidential elections?

Karamoja, the nomadic pastoralists of Northern Uganda and Kenya have traditionally raided each other's livestock, an activity that flows naturally from their cultural frameworks for life. During the raiding season, the raid is typically followed counter-raid with considerable loss of life. Ever since they became neighbors, raiding has gone on intermittently, not only between Karamojong and Pokot, but also between them and Jie, Dodoso, Turkana, Samburu, Marakwet, Sapiny ot Sabawot, and Bukusu.

Before 1970s, Karamoja was peaceful, pastoral and traditional, but the years according to Mirzeler & Young (2000) ushered in the new era of guns. The proliferation of automatic rifles (Leggett, 2000) has unequivocally infected the Karamojong culture with ills of modern AK-47 raids, which currently pose the single greatest risk to the security of the northern region. Mirzeler & Young (2000) write that there are over 40,000 AK-47 in Karamojong community, while Gray (2000) estimates that there are over 100,000 automatic rifles in Karamoja. Firearms are not novelties for the Karamojong, they have enculturated them with very little fuss, just like other Iron implements, all of which are acquired from foreigners. The Karamojongs have possessed firearms since 1870 when the colonial government licensed some, and there have always been at least a few illicit firearms.

The community started acquiring sophisticated guns in large quantities in the 1970s following the routing of President Idi Amin's army in Uganda by an alliance of Tanzanian People's Defense Force and Uganda exiles (Mburu, 2000). One known major source was the Moroto barracks which the fleeing Ugandan dictator abandoned intact thus allowing the Karamojong to help themselves to unlimited quantities of rifles, small arms and ammunitions.

William Ruto, knowing very well that in the context of the Turkana and Karamojong people that the current governments in Kenya and Uganda are part of the insecurity problem, has incited the Karamojongs and other communities to violence, and secretly engaged the Karamojong Guerilla Fighters to inflict fear and suffering among the people in protest of the outcome of the just concluded general elections. To this end, Ruto should be apprehended as an underworld warlord who incites ethnic communities to arm and commit genocide like what recently happened in the church campus in Eldoret.

For those who think the government should not act decisively and conclusively with William Ruto should read (Romans 13:4) .. for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.

Karamojong? Do your homework brother.
You are so so mistaken. No one is behind the killings, it is the people themselves who have been angered by Kibaki and the Kibaki's living in Rift-Valley. Do you know what it means to line up at 6am in a cold morning and then all that effort is thrown out of the window? I know you're in CA and dont know what it feels.
Think again before writing such harsh and unfounded comments, otherwise, I am praying for you!

These are the cheap propaganda that cannot bring peace to kenya.you cannot manipulate kenyans anymore with cheap politik.it reminds me of the ngoroko thing of the 1970's.It also reminds me of the february eighteen movement.these are the old moi tactics that hold no water and cannot convince.you know the bull in ODM and you want somebody to hold the horns for you.You could say anything to have this done for you.i do not need to ask you yopu are going by this comments.Recently Ringera hinted at starting the corruption case against the tripleA ,we also know what he means, you must have dinned with ringera.we will believe him if he starts corruption cases with Goldenberg, followed by angloleasing and then triple A.
Tell your grandfather that rigging cannot occur in kenya without dire consequences. He better embraces dialogue instead of burrying his head inthe sand.CAN you tell me how many central kenya youths are training in uganda right now with uganda military, you must be knowing this. Why did they choose to train in uganda with uganda military.when was the recruiting done and by which agency..tell us about food poisoning done on food stuffs coming from central province to the rift valley region.

NO AMOUNT OF INTIMIDATION OR BLATANT LIES WILL CHANGE THE RESOLVE OF THE PEOPLE OF KENYA,NO MANIPULATION WILL WORK AGAINST THE URGENT SEARCH FOR JUSTICE,AND IF AVENUES ARE CLOSED,DENIED,PEOPLE WILL INSTINCTIVELY USE THE LAST OPTION OF RESORTS AND THAT IS VIOLENCE,THE EARLIER THIS INJUSTICE IS ADRESSED THE BETTTER FOR ALL OF US,FOR KENYA AND YOUR PEOPLE IN RIFT VALLEY.

singling out rutto is a misplaced idea and malicious.ADVICE KIBAKI TO DO WHTA YOU SAID AND THE OUTCOME WILL BE HELL BROKEN LOOSE

You must be a supporter of Ruto to disagree with this comment. I have always said Ruto and Kosgei have a lot to do with the insecurity in Kenya today. They are using the elections and Raila to do what they have always wanted to do. The sooner Raila and other peace loving Kenyans realize this the better. Let's face it. There are two main problems in this crisis namely ethnic cleansing and elections protests. These are two different problems and should be treated as such. Only when we separate the problems that we will be able to find ways to solve them. Otherwise, we will waste all our time and resources trying to chase killers using the killers themselves.

As Kenyans, we need to be careful with what we say. To make such inflammatory statements which in the whole are without any iota of truth, is to continue to make the people of Kenya bitter and lead to untold suffering of innocent wananchi.

Those of you alleging that Hon. Ruto is responsible for the killings in the Rift Valley are safe and secure in your foreign hideouts. You don't know what the majority of innocent Kenyans are going through as a result of Kibaki's theft of elections. Most of the Kikuyu people killed or displaced are innocent poor ordinary folks just found in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most of the other Kenyans killed by the Kenyan police, led by Kibaki the thief, are innocent ordinary folks unfairly killed for demanding their constitutional rights.

The root cause of the mayhem we are seeing in our country is the rigging of elections by Mr. Kibaki and his fellow Kikuyu thieves. The truth is that he will not lead Kenyans by force. In fact, even if he trains young Kikuyu men and women in Uganda to kill innocent Kenyans, other Kenyans are also going to train. And finally, they will defend themselves. Getting arms, even anti-air missiles is not at the disposal of the government alone. If there is to be lasting peace, there must be justice and fairness. If Kibaki sticks to the stolen office, he will never manage to lead Kenya. He will only lead his central province and by extension, the eastern brothers. Not the rest of the country, Period!

The only way to achieve fairness in Kenya is for each tribe in Kenya to produce a president every 5yrs. No one tribe should have a monopoly on ruling Kenya. That is why we have a problem. All these elected officials are in office to "eat". They earn millions and only pay taxes on a fraction of their salary. They really don't care about Kenya and the kenyan wanainchi. All of them should be thrown out of office. They are all corrupt.

The article on Karamoja and Ruto is self contradicting. The author is writing from California meaning he does not have first hand information about what is happening.
Why do you link the Karamoja with Luo yet you say it is Ruto inciting them? How long have you been away from Kenya?
You are quoting people who have not been in Kenya long enough tp gather enough information to make their case so that their articles can make sense.
Pole sana.

We have seen other world leaders in the step down their seat(s) for the sake of all people/country. How greedy can Kibaki be? All this Violence is beacuse he stole election, and even if he didnt, as a leader, loose the seat for the sake of the nation. Even him knows that if he steps down, Violence will end, so why not? Ruto is our hero.

It is very unfortunate some people posting their comments which reads "The only way to achieve fairness in Kenya is for each tribe in Kenya to produce a president every 5yrs. No one tribe should have a monopoly on ruling Kenya" In a decent society, what we need in Kenya is someone who is going to unite the country regardless which tribes he / she belongs. The president who is fair / strong and understands about all tribes in Kenya and willing to move the country to the world class ecomonic power.

Interesting...your reliable sources have it all figured out ha? Well, nationmedia has a story on the violence in the RValley...read it and get the perspective....karamoja cousins...working for Ruto to kill people in Nyanza....They must be dressed in police uniforms....heard about the almost 500 young men found dead in Ngong forest before the elections? Killed by cops....or Karamoja as u may want us to believe. From the relatively calm streets of the US....we have a little clue of what Kales and kiuks in Rift are going through. Peace unto them....now, lets talk about the real issue....RESOURCES....land is the major one.

Any Kalenjin especially a Nandi should think twice before commenting on ethnic cleansing going on in the Rift Valley. You through your incompetent,un educated, corrupt, warlbreathing so called leaders have driven Kenya to her knees. One of your own ruled Kenya for 24 years and only thing to show for it is total failure of established intitutions almost bankrupting the Nation.
You received hand-outs, sold land and other property to Kikuyus etc and now want your lost property back.Give me a break!!Lets be honest
;you are ONLY good as herdsmen.A Luo can look like a saint infront of a blood breathing Kalenjin. As for Ruto, your maddening campaign is numbered.Yiu have to pay for the blood so far lost!

The whole issue of Karamoja and Ruto is rubbish. This is the same PNU propaganda we had before the elections. Let us face it, clashes in Rift valley have been there for along time, Kuresoi and Mt Elgon were burning even before the elections. We need to establish the cause of the frequent clashes in Rift Valley and deal with it once and for all. Otherwise calling other people names does not help, besides it is this kind of arrogance coupled with treating other people as though they are subhumans that has caused ethenic animosity in very many non kalenjin land. The main ccause of violence is rigged Elections and if we do not solve it, people can continue saying whatever they want to say but it wont change anything.Kenyans want the truth about the out come of the last elections and nothing else. Why are six provinces rioting except Central and Eastern?

ok enough people. EVERYBODY TAKE A MINUTE OF SILENCE END SAY A SILENT PRAYER THAT GOD'S WILL BE DONE IN THE LIVES OF OUR DEAR KENYANS OF ALL RACES AND TRIBES. Remember that kenya is a democratic country, so ask Mr. Kibake to honour and respect the wishes of kenyams when they voted for change. The blood of innocent people is criying just becoz of him. It is a very bad omen and curses might befall him if he doesnt heed. I dont know who he is going to lead, deed people or homeless, or refugees. Just pray for him so that he can come to his senses and put life first instead of greedyness and power hungryness. He has had enough so let him just step down for peace sake.

Anonymous said...

it is time we all rise up and say no to the mayhem.the majority of the dead are common people who tried to institute a change but at the same time would have been contented with whichever results.

Your words are extremely unfounded. To accuse Ruto and imply that he is guilty and Raila should beware...surely, if you will accuse Ruto then the whole of Pentagon should be on that list. Otherwise they should be left alone. For the record, I totally disagree with your remarks. Ruto is an educated, well-spoken gentleman...he has been ODM's spokesman during the most pressing times, and the front man will always get the blame. Finger pointing is not the way to go...I am in the Boston area, but was home for the holidays and followed all that drama carefully. The sad thing is that people like you refuse to acknowledge the root of the problem...injustice, which was perpetrated by Kibaki and his government. Not to say that the post election violence was right, but what started it?? Irregularities in the process..aka, rigging/injustice. The main cause of the distress in Kenya is the pain felt by all who turned out to vote, hoping that they are participating in a democracy. We all voted for Kibaki in the past election, regardless of tribe or origin. Why? We were ready for a democracy, all tired of the games our former president played. But Kibaki has taken us back too many years...his good works have been negated by his actions/inactions in the past couple months. Kenyans, lets be peaceful...pray for peace, avoid figure pointing, and lets pray that Kenya will one day achieve TRUE democracy.

And the other comment in the forum...Ruto and Kosgei responsible for the violence?? My question to you is, is it just a coincidence that the two mentioned come from the same ethnic community? I am not even a Kalenjin, so I am not biased in favor of Ruto and Kosgei, but why mention the two only? Surely...tribalism at work here.

Anonymous said...

You ignorant people of rift valley can call ruto your hero or whatever, but he and other leaders who are inciting kenyans will pay for there evil deeds.Killing an innocent kenyan just because he/she comes from a certain community will not help the country but destroy. We all know that rift valley is number one in the current madness thats going on and ruto is the sponsor. That does not make him a hero but a muderer.Every dog has its day and his day is coming.May the ALMIGHTY GOD bring peace to kenya.

Wow! This is my first time on this blog and I cannot believe some of the ignorant statements in this forum...and i quote from the other anonymous blogger as he referred to a particular community..""You are ONLY good as herdsmen.A Luo can look like a saint infront of a blood breathing Kalenjin"". Now, the only consolation I have reading ur posting is that u may be 12 yrs old. An adult cannot operate under such ignorance, vanity, crudeness, naivete, callowness and blindness. You sound as tribalistic as they come. Really...in this day and age people stil talk like that? Jameni people! Whatever happened to making educated comments? If you agree with me please say sthing!

Anonymous said...

So now all of Rift Valley people are ignorant? The same people who sent home all of Moi's sons because they are fed up with regimes and family trees that rob Kenya, despite the fact that they come from the same community?

Anonymous said...

The claim of Rutto being the instigator of violence in Rift Valley is a good example of how these evil people have been propagating lies about others and putting them down even when they have generously been accommodated by the hosts for years. In the first place, they were favored by they grandfather the so called founding president who actually was the destroying president, Jomo. How did the Kikuyus only manage to acquire land in the Rift Valley especially the former Muzung land? These people are shameless and exceedingly greedy. Look at the government jobs in the last five years; look at PNU, only Kikuyus; Look at the alliance with their cousins the Kamba; and yet they are shameless and blind to see their own nakedness. You remember the Kikuyu bishops who were in forefront in the streets during Moi's time? At the moment they cannot even gather enough courage to denounce Kibaki's blatant theft of elections except call for peace. Peace? Where is truth and justice? It is unbelievable. Are six provinces and the rest of the world blind except you people the Kikuyu? These guys are really sick and their greed will finally destroy them. Just wait. When you hear Kikuyu preaching hard in Church, be carful, he wants your money really bad. Never believe their big mouths. We know them now. God safe Kenya from such evil.
Thank you.

If these allegations are proved true, Ruto and anyone else involved will be running men and women with nowhere to hide. We need more research and tangible evidence and witnesses to this.

For those who are seeking political power, Annan is there to mediate, but for those who have died and displaced, they need justice now.

What can we can do to help? There are many who are willing to stand and be counted in bringing justice for the innocent.

There are many prominent and influential people abroad who the world listen to. Can they be of help? The process needs to start as soon as possible. It can be done through a human rights organization, local or abroad(Not KNHRC). Any one with ma on this?

please do not try to fool anyone, you are simply unfit for anything answering to democracy, justice for all,anti-corruption,peace but more to hate for kikuyus, greed for more opportunities to squander, kill, rape you name it.You pretentious relationship with the rest of Kenyans is coming to the open.Pentagon is formed of people credited with massive corruption;thieves of the highest carible ,i mean if you could steal and sell a cemetery.just quit lecturing anyone on thieves or any form of injustice.seek God,there you are sure of Salvation!

There are no allegations to prove my dear friend. Ruto has been in the fore front killing kikuyus in the Rift valley since the days of baba moi. Thats why this Raila and Ruto are hiding behind Majimbo. The want to eliminate kikuyus. The truth of the matter is that Ruto should not be allowed to conyintie the senseless killings of innocent Kenyans who have worked hard to make a living. Furthermore, kenya is a sovereign nation and anybody can live wherever he or she wishes. The issue of kibabi rigging is of no importance as even Oduinga rigged and everybody knows that. This RUTO should be brought to justice. NOW !

Isnt this the same Ruto who was Youth for Kanu 92, or am I mistaken? If so, I am not suprised.

He should be investigated for killings dating back from early 90s, and not just this time.

i am more than intrigged by our fellow kenyans disunity and luck of concern at what is at stake at the moment.
by and large presidential position has always been regarded as very prestigeous and everyone has been made to think as such .Kenyans must certainly tell those ho sek that job should pass all moral and other tests that befit that job.Campaigning is not the only test, neither is belonging to certain commuity a plus.
Errors like the ones cited in the last general election shuold forthwith disqualify a candidate incubent or not.
Participants history is todays events we shall all be ashamed when we remember what god gave us but we fail because we beln to this or that community.I am a kikuyu but I am not proud of the way things have trned againt my fellow kikuyus yet the caim they won presidency.Other tribes have spoken we have ears we must liten and hear them well.

Raila is a smart man and he must distance himself from Mr. Ruto and Kosgey. It is common knowledge these are the two man behind the Rift Valley mayhem. They planned it in advance and they executed it with ignorance to the Law of the Land. They will be held responsible for their actions and I beleive this will be sooner than later.

Those arguing that the people outside Kenya are not informed of what is going on the ground are misguided. You will be surprised to note that we are better informed. We normally receive information before you do. So, regarding the attrocious activities being conducted in the Rift Valley, do not be mistaken; we know who is behind them.

Raila's Luos have only engaged in spontaneous mayhem both in Nairobi and Kisumu. This is not the case with Kalenjins (Nandi's). Their actions were welll planned and funded and those behind them will definitely pay a heavy price.

Peace to all Kenyans

I have always hated the way people view this issue of rigging. Most people seem to be one sided depending on their political agenda.Am one person who spent sleepless nights listen and watching the election results as they streamed in from different polling stations and eventual announcement of the official results by Mr.Kivuitu at constituence level. What i can tell you the views people have including the media is totally biased. The reults from PNU and ODM strong holds were unreal. Lucky for ODM which seems to hide its head under the blankets, never reported results which was above 100% unlike its rival PNU. But dont you think ODM results reflecting 99% and 98% is also unreal. The other thing was the way stealing of votes was done by the concerned parties. ODM stole the votes very early and sent them to KICC while unlucky PNU stole very late and eventaully caught in the act. So this means both Raila and Kibaki should appreciate themselves as thieves of votes. Am always disgusted by the way Raila, his collegues and supporters go round the streets calling Kibaki the thieve but indentify themselves as clean. What i believe having done what they did with our votes eventually one must have won.
The other thing is about the tribal clashes that have been reported from various corners of our republic. Let the truth be put on the table. What we saw was just an explosion of what would have happenen if Raila was declayed the winner. What am saying ci could have still have happened under the Majimbo issue even though it would have taken more time before taking place.
People let us stop misleading ourselves and others

i might not know so much about Ruto's involvement or not. But i have a question to those who are talking of fighting for the Kenyans will. Does it mean that Eldoret is the town which lost most when rigging was done. Every kenyan lost in one way or another, directly or indirectly. i can not understand why rift valley and Eldoret in particular looks like it is the one which lost most and has to embark on killing of innocent kenyans. By voting for Kibaki, those people expressed they will and hence should not be killed for it! indeed i am certain that genocide has taken place and those involved in it should pay the price for it.

I think we should stop pointing finger to people and leaders at this time that Kenya is in crisis. So far there is no evindence that Raila won and that he was rigged out in favour of Kibaki. Each one of us Kenyans had one vote and we cannot justify that the one vote that i casted to the candidate of my choice was an assurance that he must win.

The issues arising from the election are a critical and require thorough scrutiny for the truth to be revealed. It is for this reason therefore that i urge kenyan to be patient and embrace peace to one onother respecting the diversity of Kenyan tribes and distribution throughout the country.

Let us Ruto,Kibaki or even thier affiliated political parties. All of you will agree with me that Kibaki didnt declare himself the presindent and i am sure that even if he lost the election no violence would have erupted from his supporters.

I think kibaki is to be blame. Rutto, has noting to do with all this. Whos is to be blame in Kibera? Mungiki? or who?

From what I am reading and seeing in the news, kenyans are getting impatient, angry and insecure by the day and very soon everybody will be walking around with a machette not only to protect themselves but also for offensive use.The situation is more serious than it looks to the naked eye and it might soon get out of control and go the Rwanda way.The person to blame is Kibaki for stealing an election and taking an arongant and hardline position.Remember it is PNU that was found buying machettes and other crude weapons and distributing some to western province prior to the voting day. If he fairly won the election then he should go into a re-run with all the confidence, otherwise he has lost the power to rule and now he thinks by shooting the citizens ,he can intimidate the whole country.

Rift Valley Residents...do you want to tell me primary school boys are just waking up, choosing their neighbors house to start burning?

Its been well planned way in advance. Its a sad and road that Ruto has taken. Some of the comments here bend on total ignorance.
Regarding how Kikuyu's came to Rift Valley, you would have to go beyond indipendence to understand. My Mum came there in the early 1950 to work in a white mans land. Thats the place she new till independence. Do you think she would have gone to Muranga after that? The reason why Kikuyu's are all over is one because they bore the brunt of the colonialist. Its after independent that they formed land buying company to buy these lands....not given..buy them.

And then now Ruto uses the lives of peasant farmers as his bargaining chip for power?

History will judge you harshly.

The reason Ruto is standing behind Raila is simply because he want a compromise that will ensure he is not made to pay for his crimes of Genocide. Kibaki is for peace evidenced by how he delt with Mungiki.

Kalenjins!!!! call up your tribes me and tell them it will be the whole country going under...i wish someone would be sensible and rational enought to understand that....I have seen some very idiotic comments here.

Publishing this article I hope is part of your organizations strategy to take legal action. We can complain about our broken institutions but it is the responsibility of Kenyans to fix these institutions themselves. We can lose faith in the judge but not the judicial institution. We can lose faith in the president but we should not lose faith in the executive institution. Kenyans on this blog and many others site are so passionate in their writing but that’s about it. So Believers let us join our faith and wage a good fight and Jesus is our High Priest and he backs and carries out our words/confessions of faith!

I completely agree with the article. We will not rest until this Ruto guy is prosecuted for sponsoring ethnic cleansing. Don't worry, it's just a matter. He will soon be hanging out with Liberia's Charles Taylor in a jail at the Hague. And I kid noy guys!

Ruto is being villified for a political force he has become. He literary banished Moi eternally from our politics and that should be commended. What we are witnessing now is succession politics and smear propaganda, he has no equal within the young generation politicians. 2012 like or not be it Uhuru Kenyatta, Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and especially Uhuru, they will have to go through Ruto for the Vast votes in the Rift valley and that is the bottom line.

Just came back from kenya and I can asure the doubting thomases that this article is right on the money. My home is kitale where villages are organising themselves to guard against against destruction of property and loss of life. This thing was very well organised, orchestrated and pre-planned to coincide with the elections. Why do I say that? because the torching of houses started on December 26th, the day before the elections. Now, if it was about the election results, shouldn't this have occured the day after or after the announcement of results?
Personally, I do agree that Ruto is the sole architect of this massacre because if you look carefully at what has happened, kisumu violence was very random and harphazard in that they were torching any and every property even those owned by other luos. Every location was similar to kisumu in their violence with one exception; Eldoret. Anybody who toured the area as I did or passed by the area can see the systematic destruction of property. It had to be planned in advance because these mercenaries knew exactly which properties to hit.
I personally hold Ruto and so do many other kenyans affected responsible for every life lost in eldoret and other parts of Rift valley.

I disagree with the article and the research needs to be done. Some people like the writter don't know what it takes to line up in a long que to vote then your vote is taken for nothing.
Democracy and Justice has to be respected, without these there can never be peace at all. I will always respect Ruto as a leader who sucrifices all for a peaceful Kenya and therefore the article is baseless and whoever wrote doesn't what he or she is talking about. The total blame is on Kibaki, Michuki,ECK - Kivuitu and some other few power-blood thirsty PNU MP's.

hey kenyans, everybody knows that kibaki and his cronies denied all kenyas justice by their stupid actions. they are now shifting blems to Arap SAMOEI WILLIAM the king. let kibaki step down because he is the cause of more than 800 LIVES IN KENYA.

The name game won't help. Let Kibaki admit he did not win the elections. Kenyans only want their hard fought democracy back. You can kill a body, but you cannot kill a soul.

oops, some of the comments i read today befits my three year old,as a matter of fact the little kid has a high capacity of understanding war is not the answer.some of the comments are ill founded with no basic truth in it.somebody asked what moi did for the country.am more than happy to inform you peace and most of all
understanding the 42 tribes.
Now to the californians who are saying ruto is the instigater of what is beffalling kenya and to make it worse you guys have done a research, who did you research from and which people's tribe did you do research to if you really did any.to my point of view i wonder whether you guys did anything of asort.and if you did that means you guys are already homeless having leaved and worked in cali.....theres no point of elaborating.
what is the genesis of what is being witnessed.THEFT OF VOTES;and who stole?instead of blaming ruto ask yourselves what was rhe root cause.democracy is not easily achieved and if it will take what is being perceived now and democracy to grow and be achieved may it be.if the government can't contain the situation then theres no point of being there.kibaki should park and go to othaya and ask for advice on how to teach lucy some manners.

Guys i see you spitting alot of hate and anger, while most of you are skirting around the problem. The problem in kenya is not Ruto. Quit all these tall tales on Karamojongs and face the issue. Kibaki, and a few of his Kikuyu friends & Mt. Kenya Mafia Inc. stole the election, that is the cause of chaos. He is the one to be locked in jail and the keys thrown away, very unfortunate we have no courts in Kenya.
Tribal animosity in Kenya did not start with Ruto. During Moi dictatorial regime, we had land/ and or ethnic clashes in many parts of the country(not resolved upto date even after lengthy&costly commission of inquiries). My Carlifonia brothers(WHOEVER IS BEHIND THIS USELESS PROPAGANDA ON RUTO), you can not convince me that the answer to Kenya problem is Ruto. What height of hypocrisy!
Kenyan tribes have a worn-out cord of love for each other, our fabric of unity torn asunder by leaders that perpetuate socioeconomic & polical injustices. Election theft, is just the last straw that broke the carmels back. Criminals take advantage of anarchy that prevails in Kenya currently, they do not need any incitement but rather a conducive enviroment. We have a history of real militias existing in Kenya e.g Mungiki, Taliban,------. The enviroment has been perfectly set for them by the dirty old dog Kibaki. He stole the votes of poor Kenyans because he worships greed.
The seeds of dicord we harvest today were planted by our founding leader Mzee Kenyatta& power brokers, after independence. Kenyatta and friends Inc. instutionalized land grabbing and amassing of wealth through corrupt means. This insatiable greed created a seedbed of hatred among Kenyan tribes.Kenyans need to confront these crimes.
I do not support the killing of anyone, Kenyans must wake up and realize that they need not turn themselves into political sacrificial lambs.
Those of us who are out of the country, let us educate our bretheren, let us stand for the truth. Let there be a difference between us and the likes of Michuki, Mungatana, Murungi, Saitoti etc. It is no secret that Kenya election 2007 was stolen in Kibaki's favor, as Kenyans let as condemn this evil act, Kikuyu bretheren your silence is telling!
Like everyone else, i love peace, but we must realize that peace is an offspring of justice, without the former, you can not have the latter.
Through these blogs people can help build Kenya upon the foundatios of truth and justice, but when the main agenda is to spread lies, you will fail.
May God's wisdom pervade the hearts of Kenyans, may God grant devine power to the advocates of justice and may God's will prevail in the short or long run, amen.

The whole issue of Mr ruto and Karamojong is quite true. We have been reading the news how the people of riftvalley gathered together before the elections were announced. In this case the violence was well planned by the leaders of riftvalley lead by Ruto, cosgey and the rest. This is a ashame. Idon't know why they're jealous of kikuyus I have lived with them , I love them with all my heart desipte other tribes don't like them. hey brothers and sisters we better love our neighbors as we love ourselves it's a command from God and we have no choice.

ALL THE TRIBAL POLITICS AND NAMECALLING IS TOTAL RUBBISH,NO ONE TRIBE WILL ELIMINATE THE OTHER FROM KENYA.THIS WAS AN ELECTION AND NOT A CONFIRMATION OF ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL AND THERE HAD TO BE A LOOSER EVEN IF IT IS NOT THE WAY YOU WANTED IT.THE CLAIM OF RIGGING ARE YET TO BE PROOFED BUT THEY SURELY SERVE AS GOOD PROPAGANDA TO KEEP TEMPERS HIGH IGNORING THE MILLIONS WHO WERE FORCEFULLY DENIED THE RIGHT TO VOTE BY HIRED GOONS IN SOME PARTS OF KENYA SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THEIR TRIBAL BACKGROUND.POLITICIANS WHO ARE POWER STARVED WILL DO ANYTHING TO ACQUIRE IT EVEN IF IT MEANS USING THEIR TRIBES AS PAWNS.
HOWEVER THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION OF KILLING ON THE GROUNDS OF POLITICS AND ANYONE WHO HAS KILLED OR ORGANISED THE KILLING OF ANYONE ON THE GROUNDS OF POLITICS OR TRIBAL BACKGROUND,OR DESTROYED ANY OTHER PERSONS PROPERTY MUST FACE THE FULL FORCE OF THE LAW.
TRIBAL ARROGANCE WILL NOT HELP AT THIS STAGE AND THE DAYS OF BENEFITNG DUE TO TRIBAL ORIGIN ARE GONE TOO.WHOEVER WON OR LOST, WE HAVE A PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY OF TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES AND THE FAMILY AND NO POLITICIAN WILL COME AND DO THAT FOR US.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE OF EITHER BEING OBJECTIVE OR SPENDING SLEEPLESS NIGHTS THINKING ABOUT TRIBES IN WHICH CASE YOU WILL PERISH BY THE TRIBAL VENON IN YOUR OWN MIND AND TONGUE.

I say they should be brought to justice. The ruto camp just want the investigation of the 87 killed by the police, hmmmm... give me a break, what about the more than 600 innicentincluding the children and women? We need not an explanation but justice brought to them. Why burn the churches and the home?Your own rulled for 24 yrs and thre were no killing from the other party.
Whaat a shame to those leaders they have no regard to the human life, what is the diffrence between them and the alquedas? Iam yet to know...

I cant believe what u said coz u are in slumberland. Like, u think kales are stupid, kiuks are the worst by being lied by their own leader (kibaki) that if a Luo had won, which he did win, all the kiuks would have been killed, that it was better he stole the presidency so that a few (by a few he meant 500) kiuks killed. And u know what? The kiuks believed which makes them the most stupid who can be betrayed by their own leader.

I dont know what ya'll are smoking but killing each other especially the poor amongst the poor aint gonna resolve anything. Kikuyu settled in Rift valley-so what?!! So who should occupy Nairobi? The maasai's coz they were first ones there. This is all a whole load of crap. Kenyans need to modernize and realize that the world is becoming smaller and hiding in yo tribal boundaries and communities will only help increase regression. Pple who have been outside Kenya know how it feels to meet a fellow Kenyan regardless of tribe and take pride in yo country together. In Zimbabwe, Mugabe gave the natives their land by forcefully taking it from white settlers. You dont need me to tell you how well the economy is doing now that the locals have their land back. Pple are dying of hunger.Peaceful transition is possible. Kenyans should start seeing the bigger picture of things and realize its not the other tribe(s) that is the problem- its the system. Which brings me to the issue of a new constitution. Kenya needs a new constitution that builds in checks and balances among the 3 branches of government-Judiciary, Executive and legislative branch. That way, the president will not be the only one appointing the judges, ECK chairman etc. The powers of the president will be enough to run the country with diligence and accountabilty to Kenyans and ensure equitable distribution of resources. No politician is worth dying for or killing for. This is human life!!!

My fellow Kenyans, who approves violence?if we live by the sword we die by the sword. We are at crossroads in Kenya, yet we try and justify the wrongs among us.

I believe in a Capitalist Socialist Kenya, where all Kenyans are able to access wealth without favour or fear and a government that takes care of its people. That is a fundamental right.

We as Kenyans should also respect another mans property, all the Kikuyus,Luo's,Kalenjins,Kamba's....irrespectable of their demographic's currently bought what they own from the hardwork of their hands...be it land,businesses...

We are a great country filled with small brains, that's why we have failed upto now.We have the highest educated population in Kenya's history, yet no visionaries.

Let's all join hands and say no to the Kibaki's,no to the Raila's,no to the Ruto's,Let kenyan's join hands and say no to tribalism. How can we in our sober minds allow paid thugs, selfish leaders, take us back to the dark ages of tribalism.

The Kenyan government has the resources to offer it's citizens voter education, this is the basis of any democracy, that a vote is only cast for a second.Let every vote be cast from our brains not our hearts,we have failed as citizens by electing the same political dynasties, until the dynasties develop the notion that they own Kenya.

The people do not exist for the government, but the government for the people. He who is the greatest is the servant, our politicians have forgotten the reasons for their nomination.

One can be of service to Kenya at any level of power,it doesn't make sense when blood is spilt for chaos, blood is shed for peace.

We shall arise from the ashes,we will build again, our children will walk the streets joyously.Kenya will be a Kenya for all.

I know the people who are behind the violence maybe well protected in the mask of intervention or fighting for justice, but I believe they will finally pay for their awful deeds. I still cannot rationalize how an individual can accept to be used as a tool to kill others and serve the interest of leaders who are in safe haven. Every Kenyan should be cautious of leaders who have double messages of "peace" and "violence." When were these two words compatible? It is inconceivable to use hostile and injustice means to achieve peace and justice. All Kenyans need to unite and make sure none of our family members are involved in such sadistic moves that will turn us into miserable and desperate human beings. No one wins in this type of war. Those engaging in such incomprehensible moves should question themselves if the leaders they want to hold the presidency, based on their party's affiliation, will put food on their tables. We must work hard to ensure we fill our tummies to gain strength and build our beloved nation. Violence will only fuel the fire of hatred among different tribes, making every Kenyan suffer, regardless of their political inclination. Why use archaic means that have made many countries become hopeless and vulnerable?

The guy threatening that if something happens to Ruto that Kenya will burn...who the fuck do you think your idiot godfather is?
It doesn't take much to know Ruto is behind all the mayhem. Look at the sneer on his face when anything is said about the burning of people in church. Also, what the hell is he doing in Kisumu mourning the loss of life when he hasn't mourned the ones slayed on his backyard. And why are you so bitter that the truth is finally coming out? oo could it be because we are right on the mark? You should be ashamed of yourselves and your leaders...killing innocent children just because you are jealous. We work with our hands and we don't need handouts from the government be it land or anything else. Ya'll can burn our homes and crops...we will still rise up and conquer...your herd mentality is what got you where you are...And by the way if Kibaki has managed to steer all the wealth to us in five years; imagine what Moi did for you in 24 years. And yet all you can show for it is blood in a calabash...you satanic worshippers.

I have read some of the coments by anonymous. You seem like an educated person and yet your comments are that of a fool. Where in the world do you come of tryng to make it look like the Kikuyu & Kibaki have incited all of what is going on. The violence is concentrated in certain areas (northern)& parts of the slums where this a concentration of the same folks. and hardly in any of the areas the Kikuyu's mostly reside. (you ask me, both the Kikuyu gangs and luo gangs are thugs and should be arrested neither belongs in a descent society) Where was all the noise when the Moi government was persecuting the Kikuyu's and calling them cockroaches, where was this rightoues indignation. People have a right to peaceful protest. Why did ODM encourage violence. Both ODM and Kibaki's party and other parties did their own kind of vote rigging. Wrong as it is, it does not allow violence and destrution of property. This whole issue is beyond The Kikuyu and the Luo etc etc. This is about a country, our country and it's people. Where the country for the first time in almost 30 years has enjoyed a growing prosperity in the past 5 years and recognition internationaly for proper fiscal management. Mr. Oginga has been in parliament for over 30 years, tell me what his success story is for the province he was elected. He is still recieving a salary of $15,000, while his own constituents are going hungry. What did those poor folks Kikuyu and otherwise, who voted alongside everyone else, who eke out a meager living to support their family's do to deserve being displaced. Such foolishness should not exist in this day and age. The Kenyans made a statement so profound when they elected new people to parliament and threw out most of the old guard. That in itself is a very profound statement. It showed the direction the country was going, a very good direction. How dare one man's pursuit of power try to dismantle all that. Who cares if Raila or Kibaki had become the president as you say "legaly". The Kenyan people should be commended on doing the right thing. People like you who make foolish statements like that belong in the stone age alongside the colonialists who initialy started all this mess as a means to divide and conquer the people who lived in areas they stole land from. It is very shallow reasoning to make assessments and accusations like that Moi was not Kikuyu, yet he was president, and during his residency practically brought the country to its knees and sold us to the Indians (the true parasites, who took all their wealth overseas). Ouko was luo, and well liked throughout the country. He could well have been President had the Moi goverment not killed him. I truly believe that had it not been this foolishness encouraged by inflated ego's that the next emerging president could well have been from any tribe whether in this election or the next. The country should always come first.

You are soooo son of a bitch, bloody bastard. Kikuyus stole the election and now they are trying to hold on it but it is slowly slipping away. The man you are trying to hold his hands is too old and may not last 5 yrs. Shut-up and kiss my ass.

All kikuyus are thieves, arrogant, stupid and only thrive in a corrupt enviroment. All the other tribes are fed up and at last are passing a strong message like the one the Kikuyus passed to the white settlers who had occupied their land....The kikuyu killers (and their leaders like Dedan Kimathi) of the innocent white families in the name of liberation were decorated as war heroes...What makes them think that this is different. The truth is that the Kikuyus are yet to pay the final prise going by the anger of the other tribes. To cut their losses and to reduce the pain, they should take their dino,Kibaki backtp Othaya and Lucy back to Mathare mental hospital and then lie low as envelopes after that...

I am shocked that there is a Kenyan hate blog of this magnitude. I am amazed that it bears the Kenyan flag, making it seem serious-and even official. I suggest you get the Kenyan flag and colours out of these columns and let your hate mongering proceed in a different environment. I however want to point out a few things. I consider myself a fair-minded Kenyan. I live in the US and was home during the elections (returned last week). There was no doubt in my observation that the election process was flawed, results rigged and post election attitudes and emotions inflamed by the politicians.
In Kenya I live in Maragwa District. Post election I found myself surrounded by people who defended stereotypes and claims that bedeviled politicians of the opposite side and sanctified their own. In Maragwa, therefore, ODM was under fire whereas PNU was consecrated. One day while on a visit to JuJa town I heard with my own ears an “enlightened “ PNU group tell ODM supporters that they had not seen anything yet. Come next elections, they hinted, ‘we now know that when you steal 20,000 votes we can steal 200,000 and have Uhuru the next president' etc. I walked off from the social place because I did not want to participate in the discussion, even as a quiet listener.
Two days earlier PNU supporters had accosted me and humiliated me, threatening to be physical with me. My crime; I tried to re-direct the discussion on the post election violence. While the entire group was well mixed in allegiance, the PNU participants repeated some of charges in the your lead article. That Hon. Ruto caused the violence. My re-direction was that Hon. Ruto may be the most wanted violent criminal in Kenya. But the violence started after a disputed election in which he did not officiate. Furthermore even if Hon. Ruto had assembled a forum quickly through which to impart his strategy to his “army” reasonable Kenyans would still address the fact that elements of that army found his message tenable.
It sickens me when I see ‘leaders’ charge that the acts of violence and cruelty are being propagated by incited youths! Where, in rural Kenya, do we have youths whose parents’ and community’s influence is far away? While it is true that the perpetrators have minds of their own we must never as Kenyans overlook the collective responsibility of the background community. I am not saying this to finger point. The main point is this. Violence originates in the mind not in the muscles. For a mind to sustain such intense hate the emotions and feelings of the individual must be almost pathologically derailed. And now we are not talking of one mind. We are talking of regional feelings. There must have been some promise in the alignment of the communities and their expression of their vote that was terribly frustrated by the seemingly stolen election results. That caused people’s impulses to take over their actions rather than reason.
Do I condone the situation. No. I find it difficult to understand how a human being can cut another even with a razorblade. And what we have now is individuals clans turning against each other with deadly weapons and unimaginable fury. The remedy is not to frame Ruto. We must address the election flaws as the spark that ignited and continues to sustain the inter-ethnic violence. When tempers subside we must study and alleviate the origins and sources of inter-ethnic hate and intolerance.
My (recent) experience with debate on national issues is that the country is now divided into two halves -the pro ODM and the pro-PNU. Unfortunately, the pro-PNU have assumed very intolerant positions. They are verbally threatening, arrogant and abusive, as is in the incident I just alluded to. And if their utterances are coming from their minds they are in the same mind set as the already violent ones they are accusing. No wonder Mungiki is now finding reason and an environment to return. I was asked by those PNU supporters) why I held my moderate views and yet I am circumcised(“or are you not”) and a bantu!
At the national level Mwai Kibaki went to console the displaced Kenyans in Eldoret. In his message he was quoted as telling those poor Kenyans that no one can chase another Kenyan from their homes; that Kenyans can live and trade where they wish. Is he sick? Is that a message for people who are displaced and currently in a stadium? Is that a message to be received by the perpetrators? Doesn’t that incite those “youths”?Does it surprise anybody that right then he was shown the huge smoke that was beginning to rise behind him.
Kibaki knows that international negotiators are in Kenya to broker peace. He knows that the major bone of contention is whether or not he won the presidency fairly. Yet he states, right in front of Anan, “as your duly elected and sworn in president”. Doesn’t that incite half of Kenyan voters? All the so called government spokesmen; Mutua, Michuki, Uhuru, Martha Karua etc. issue tough statements, Don’t they incite half of the Kenyan voters. They are oblivious of the fact that if indeed Mwai Kibaki is committed to a solution, as he says he is, and it is established that the election was flawed, they are serving in an illegitimate government.
Kenyans of any calling must rise to the reality that even if Mwai Kibaki won fairly, he did so in an electorate divided in half. When he and his appointees speak it is music to the ears of one half and a dirge to the other. Kenya will exist long after Kibaki and Odinga. Let us all abhor violence suffering of innocent Kenyans and stop inciting each other. Your article was irresponsible and was born out of no research. Probably the research you are doing is finding out what the moods of internet readers are and how they can incite each other-but for what purpose?

kenyans, Kenyans, Kenyans, you have no worthwhile business at all save this barbaric cycle of recrimination? uuugh! Kenyans need to urgently save their face. the point is not looking at some individuals and making undocumentable accusations, rather, it lies in the Kenyans looking into themselves with an eye and heart after truth, justice and democracy. U just forget that u are one people created in the image of God? if u choose to continue the path of alienating the Kales, kikuyus, Luos and i don't know who from each other, you sure will have no end. the writer of the article is simply lost and needs to sober up earlier than later.

Sign Petition to take Ruto, Raila & Co. to the ICC in the Hague. As the information comes out we are learning the truth, that the post election violence was preplanned genocide. Please sign and forward we must never let this happen again in our country. Remember the 50 innocent women and children burnt alive in a church in Eldoret. Their voices are screaming from above for justice. We can't let them down. Go to:

http://www.gopetition.com/online/16189.html

All the information on the preplanned election violence is pointing to Ruto & his henchmen. That ODM now wants to throw sand to blind us won't work. Not this time around. Enough is enough. The kalenjins were in power in Kenya for 24 years with their beloved MOI. All government agencies were brought to the ground due to mis-management. He brought in people whose only experience was herding cattle in blankets to run major government bodies, the results were catastrophic. If they didn't prosper in 24 years of absolute rule what makes anyone think that they can do better now. They don't have what it takes and only they are to blame. As for the luo community your have a herd mentality that never seems to transcend education. Unitil you all change your way of thinking you will continue to act belligerent and idiotic and never get anywhere. Learn to think for yourselves. Kibaki took a broke government in 2002, and changed things for the better. Thank god he will continue to be in charge. Raila is self centered wants to rule at any cost. He joined Kibaki's camp in 2002 becuase MOI fielded Uhuru, to Raila he miscalculated his move by thinking Kibaki would be a pushover. All he wanted was to be PM, push Kibaki to the side and rule like a king. The move was never about the country or Kibaki so give us a break. Raila is a rhetoric flinging do nothing individual who just wants to rule to satisfy his big ego, sorry! Kenyans have wised up! Tell us what he has done for his people, in Kisumu, Nyanza, Kibera, please tell us. The boycotts what a joke. Kibera people walk to work they can't afford to get on city hopper, Equity bank, give us a break they don't have bank accounts, milk, its a luxury item. We need to wake up and figure out the battle in Kenya should not be about tribes but the huge gap between the rich and the poor. The answer is NOT re-distribution of wealth! It should be about electing honest "public servants" safeguarding taxpayer money, initiating development without discrimination, growing the private sector to create good paying jobs, affordable healthcare for all kenyans and free education all kenyan children. Please, no communist ideals, we are a capitalist country. We cannot recover 24 years of MOI rule within 5 years that is totally unrealistic! We need new leaders in Kenya, and Raila is not the answer. He has delivered nothing but bloodshed, he has shown the world that he has no leadership skills, has no sympathy for the dead or displaced unless of course they are luo. We need a uniter in the country not this luo warrior! For the record ODM did not win the election! They were promised a win at all costs. We know some luos in the U.S. who had purchased plane tickets, had picked out their office furniture and burned their bridges along the way. The pre-election arrogance amongst some was unbelievable. That Raila did not prepare his supports that the possibilty existed that they could lose the election is scary and shows a man who wants power at all costs. Guys, its all about him not the country. As one editiorial eloquently put it "Raila knee deep in blood, steps over dead bodies, hands streched out for the top job" A truly sick man. On a personal level, I was never crazy about Kibaki, I have been unhappy with his lame way of fighting corruption. However, when the opposition fielded Raila as their candidate, I moved closer to Kibaki, when the opposition brought in Ruto I moved even closer to Kibaki, when the opposition talked about implementing majibo I moved completely to the Kibaki camp. I am glad he is in charge, he should stay there until 2012. If the people of western find a more moderate leader who can unite the country I will absolutely consider voting for them depending on who else is running. My choice will never be made on the basis of tribe, that to me is as shallow as it gets. This job is so important, it should never be about tribes, but credentials! For the record, the kikuyus should stay in the rift valley, no-one stole anything, they bought land like any other kenyan. What is democracy?

Guys can we have a discussion without using vulgar language, why the cursing? Take a deep breath! My goodness we already see the uncivilized behaviour of the machete wielding hooligans in slums, don't bring slum behaviour to the blogs. Have some respect.

God bless kenya

People, lets take a breather for a moment, and think clearly. All those politicians have been working together for years. They know each other very well. Neither Kibaki nor Raila has exemplified qualities of a good leader. Kenya is for Kenyans, let us rise together as one, we are the leaders of tomorrow. Lets think about the future of Kenya. These politicians have taken us to this level, are we going to get dragged down by there deeds even in the blogs?? We the "text" generation went to sch together dated and marriied from other tribes. One thing that we know for sure is that our rights to democracy is being taken for granted by both ODM and the Govt. There is systmatice abuse of human rights(doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that)..The TRUTH WILL COME OUT ONE DAY!!!BUT LET US RISE BEYOND THIS STUPIDITY OF TRIABLISM AND START THINKING HOW wanjiku, cheptoo, Atieno, mogaka....etc Can make sure that such a thing will NEVER EVER HAPPEN AGAIN. LET US HAVE A SAY IN THE CONSITUTION CHANGES, LET US HAVE ADVOCACY and LOBBY Groups that represents the will of the people. LET US UNITE FAR AND WIDE AND FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY.

The situation in Kenya right now is a consequence of the election vote tallying rigging perpetrated by Kibaki and his very vile ridden henchmen that include Nyamweya, Karua, Michuki, Uhuru and others operating from the backrooms. Kalonzo opportunism did not help either. It is more the radical and open disregard to both ethics and the law they claim to represent that has plunged Kenya into darkness. It is suprising that they wake up evry morning and dust their coats and claim inocence in the whole mess. They are the perpetrators of the crminal activities in Kenya. They own the Mungiki and control the police and other paramilitary tribal outfits.

All those supporting William Ruto and Kosgei are so naive to think that people have forgotten that the same Ruto was behind the Y92 which orcestrated the first tribal clashes in 1992. Ruto stand condemned and guilty of genoicide and crimes against humanity and should know that he is a wanted man. He cannot pretend to be a peace maker during the day yet he is organising killing squads at night with his Kalenjin warriors and militia men. How come he has not condemned the clashes at his back yard Eldoret? We know Raila might be genuine but he is imprisoned by the hardline views of the likes of Ruto, Kosgei, Nyang Nyong. How come people like Mudavadi and Ngilu are not in the forefront of these hardline positions? Because they have discovered the the kind of agenda the likes of Ruto and Kosgei are advancing against the Kenyans are not what they fought for.
Before you condemn the duly elected president of Kenya Hon. Kibaki, you need to ask yourselves these questions- How come none of these Kalenjin leaders critized the misrule of Moi for 24 years? Were they not the same ones who brought down Kenya National Insurance, the All African commonwealth games, the KICC, the KFA, among many other parastals. Ruto is on record as one of the greatest thieves of public land and Post Bank treasury bills. So please shut up your mouth before you defend this killer called Ruto. You talk of Kikuyus taking over the vast land in the Rift Valley! None of this land was given to all these victims free of charge. They bought it with their hard earned co-operative monies, savings while the Luos went for a new car, new house furniture, and a new wife one for the town and the other one for rural setup. The Kalenjins sold most of their lands to willing buyer willing seller and they have already enjoyed their use of the money. By the way, can this guy called ARAP KIPYOS be taken to primary school to be taught basic manners? I'm willing to pay for his school fees to learn the basic maners of writing to someone else who differs with his opinion. You cannot be in America with that kind of language my fellows Kenyan.

I agree with the whole issue of Ruto being behind the killing that has put our country at Zero level. I am a kalenjin and can't hastate to vomit the whole truth is which is bitter as usual. Ruto and Kosgei with some Kalenjin elders organised the killing of the Kikuyus even before the elections.Ruto will never take our Kalenjin community to the next step of power. He that through Raila he will smell the power of the Kenya government and after he realised that they could not make it he had to turn his anger on the innocent Kikuyus. A year ago, Kalenjin was for Kalonzo Musyoka, and well knew that their son can not ascend to power. Ruto and his friends should be handled well to pay for the lost lives of Kenyans. To make the matter worse even after the ODM called off the mass rallies at the first time, Ruto and Kosgei were the first people to announce that they will still continue with mass actions. How many Kalenjins have died? how many Kalenjins have been displaced? How many children are out of school right now in the riftvalley province where Ruto hails and yet he can't give up with his killings and heartless comments. Actions should be taken with immidiate effects to "take care" of this heartless selfish and arrogant so called pentagon leaders. we cant afford to continue loosing lives becaues of few characters. I respect our former president alot, he knew how to handle these crooks which was better than loosing million people.

Those who kill by the sword will die from the sword. lf it is indeed true that these two leaders have organized these killings then their time will come. All the innocent blood shed will be upon them. No one should think that taking of a life is a simple thing. The people dying be they Kikuyu or Luo or Kalenjin, What have they done to deserve death? These leaders don't care for the rabble of the country. We could be rats dying in the streets for all they care. All they want is to attain their dreams of becoming Ministers. As simple Kenyans we should refuse to be used. Period.

So we want to turn our country into a Somalia? You think these people like what has become of their country? We are supposed to be 70% Christians in Kenya. Shame on us. l hear some Christians were even planning to kill members of their congregation after church service in Gilgil. Which God do they believe in? We all need to pray for our country. We shall all die and Kenya will remain. We need to worry about our souls.

Dear Kenyans we must learn to speak the truth. There is no amount
of lies which will make Ruto a criminal. It is well known that ruto was himself a victim of PNU
thuggary at Kisii long before election day when PNU directed by
Nyachae almost killed ruto. It is well known that PNU thugs had organised killing of opposition supporters before election. If you
can remember when rude weapons were
found in the government cars.
In fact, the government headed by Kibaki should be investigated and be taken to court for planning evils in the country by rigging and
refusing to step down.

Your plan of isolating Ruto from his team will not succeed at all.
He is very innocent. It is Kibaki who is quility.
Again, you talking of majimbo which
is the only solution to the problem
in Kenya now. Until we have majimbo
in the constitution there is not going to be justice which can bring peace.
Already central province has been practising majimbism since independence. There is nobody who has land or business in Central. If one tries, you will succeed because of discrimnation they always employ.
You should also stop be proud because everybody in kenya is not with you. It is going to be hard for in future.

it is indeed very sad to read such an article and moreso the author doesn't understand how violence surely erupted,i can assure that what the kibaki administration did is connected to what it is in your rusted brain,by evicting our people from mau narok, kipkurere and many other places i can not name them and worse indeed calling their title deeds a paper,it was bitter and painful but we had to persevere then time has come and justice must be done, our people need or deserve to be respected and their rights be given for peace to prevail.

To the Your black global blogger. First, Your accusations are baseless. You need to grow up in the sense that deep in you you know Kibaki's loyals played dirty. You know he is resposible for the deaths across the board. The error of rigging is over and culprits like his stubborn loyals should go down. its unfortunate that you might have incited another killing by this BLACK backgroud blog. I would rather have you bleach this blog to promote peace than cough upuzi.
Ruto called out the vice.quit shifting the truth. Check your self before making accusation. You are promoting hatred and therefore this blog should be turned in. By the way i am a kikuyu first then kenyan

People Foundation, Inc,
Your romour is coming to late. this lie about Ruto has been circulating in Nairobi and you basically cut and paste.People killing Kikuyu must be the remants of the tribal killing of the 90's which Kibaki for political expendiency refused to investigate. He thought he would be fighting his friend Moi who would have implicated in this and who he neede to survive. It was moi and Biwott , Kibaki's campaigners who were the bosses of these people.they possibly are not in their control now but they created them.Ruto was too young in politics to have been involved.check this, a president promises a UN secretary general that he will read this speech before the camera and ends uo reading another. I would not want him to be my president.

Fellow Kenyans, let us all turn to God for direction. It is only God who clearly knows the truth and holds the key to Kenya's peace.I support the view that it is the devil who is bringing the current cofussion that is in Kenya, but while using human agents. So what we need to do to overcome this mess, is to call on a higher power, namely God himself, to intevene.Remember that prayer in the name of Jesus Christ is the most appropriate Political tool.

I am lost for words but killing of innocent wananchi because they voted for Kibaki is difficult for me to understand. If President Kibaki stole the elections what difference does it make who voted for him?
There is something known as respect for life. And right now both sides are lacking in that regard.
I never thought in my life that I will ever see someone's skin being peeled off on TV.Businesses and residential neighbourhoods going up in smoke. Not in my beloved country Kenya.
INDEED WE'RE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS THAT ARE PROPHESIED IN THE BIBLE,AND JESUS CHRIST'S SECOND COMING WILL BE THE ONLY ANSWER.
SAY A WHOLE LOT OF PRAYER THAT THE KENYAN CITIZENS CAN BE SPARED THE HORROW THAT WE HAVE ALREADY WITNESSED.

The differing views here represent the current problem in Kenya, namely tribalism or extreme ethnicism. My take is this: ODM and its clique of the so called Pentagon members are not democrats perse as they might want the British and Americans to believe. We all knew that if ODM lost the presidential elections, whether faily or not, they were bound to cause chaos because Odinga and his under educated, misinformed, naive and blood thirsty campanions -Ruto and Kosgey- were open about their hatred for the Kikuyus and any other ethnic group that they could associate with the Kikuyu e.g the kisiis.
I confess that I had travelled back home from the US in December to vote for ODM because, in spite of my misgivings about Mr. Ruto and Kosgey,I had thought at the time that Mr. Odinga had shown that he was a dedicated, modern, corrupt free statesman that would put country above his own personal and ethnic interests. But after the elections and the chaos that followed, i regret ever having cast that vote for ODM.Mr. Odinga is a power hungary politician that wants the presidency by any means necessary and would care less who he associates with, how many people get killed in the process, or how many lies he tells to get it. Just recently he was quoted as saying "these people killed by state agents are the heroes of this country".......how when they are the ones that were killing other kenyans?? He then went on to say "ODM would file a case of crimes against humanity against PResident Kibaki at the international court of justice".... I don't know whether he really believes that incidental killings carried out by law enforcement officers trying to maintain law and order after ODM supporters- sanctioned and financed by the PENTAGON MEMBERS (Ruto, Kosgey and Odinga)- went beserk and embarked on carnage and senseless destruction of property on a scale to rival the Rwanda genocide of yesteryear, constitute crimes against humanity? If you really believe that sir, you -MR. ODinga- need a reality check for what you are suggesting is that Kibaki should have let the ODM mayhem continue unabated.

I quote again from another speech by the leader of ODM "The kisiis are our people, we must not touch them, they had overwhelmingly voted for me but theire votes were stolen"....... translation--- kill everybody that did not vote for ODM and me....... that is Mr. ODINGA's and MR.Ruto's version of democracy. Those that vote for us are our people, those that don't must be eradicated...

Mr. Odinga, if you wish to become a true leader of KENYA, then renounce the genocide, the ethnic cleansing, the murderers within the Pentagon membership of your clique, accept the existing legal framework, stop shaming Kenya in the International arena for personal gain, respect the right of every kenyan to live and work where they choose, to vote for whoever they want without having to be chased out of their homes or businesses, to go to school, to be able to earn a living etc. At the end of the day, it is just politics not life!!!!!!!!!!

Dear (I use that term loosely) yesterday I called you an educated fool. I take that back. I will in fact simply call you a fool. In all sincerity ... I am neither a "soooo son of a bitch ... or even a blody bastard" And frankly I have no reason to want to kiss your ass. My mother is a beautiful lady bless her soul, and I know my father quite well.

you know before you start using American slang mixed with Old English slang at least have the common sense to see or learn where those terms originated from. The root of most of the problems in this world come from ignorance and stupidity in the disguise of the very kind of arguments and venom you are spewing.

Like it or not we are all Kenyans. Just as much as you cannot choose whom your relatives are, you cannot dis-associate yourself from the people around you. I am Kikuyu and proud of it. Each of us ... Luo, Nandi, Kalenjin, Kamaba etc etc have a rich history, you should be proud of your history and who you are. Listen to your own folk tales ... at least the ones told by the old folks who remember what pride was before the Europeans appeared and tried to change our history.

We are Kenyan. Do you realise that we were going to be the one country in the whole of Africa that was actually fiscally sound. To the extent that not to long in the future we could well have been judged in the same standards of the European nations and not just a third world nation. How many countries in the world hold a B++ rating? actually very few.

I feel sorry for you in your ingorance. Your pomp and and arrogance. You are either very young and know very little and seem to think you know a lot, or you are an old fool who has simply burried their head in the sand for many years ... finaly looked at the world and started talking nonsense. Or should I say chattering away like an old baboon.

Anyway, bottom line the violence should end. People need to go back to building their lives. The people who have agravated the situation that now exists need to be prosecuted. Nobody truly knows who one the elections... there seems to have been to much fraud on both sides and the electoral commitee made quite a mess of it.

Like it or not we are Kenyans and we all have to live with that ... peacefully. We cannot exist without the other and mass genocide is certainly not the answer.

Kenyans...which ever way you look at events unfolding in Kenya, for an individual to stoop to such a primitive level as to chop up/burn or maim a neighbor because they come from another tribe...rigged elections or not...means that there are some Kenyans (tribe irrelevant) and quite a number that have not yet evolved from primitivity. If you think that you should butcher a Kenyan or another human being because you feel your vote was wasted, perhaps it is you wasting your own vote by comparing the value of your vote with a human life. Humans are a unique species blessed with the only thing that differentiates us from beasts and other creatures of nature...the gift of reason. Clearly, no reasoning is taking place, perhaps there was none in the first place, who knows. Think about it if you have 2 monkeys each of a different breed that have been living in the same area for years, eating chattering, raising their young. ...DO you think that one day one of the monkeys suddenly realizes that monkey 2 is not he same breed and begins terrorizing monkey 1, for being from another breed. Hardly likely...but lets just say that being monekys...this is the decision it makes...fair enough...after all they are just monkeys. Those butchering other fellow kenyans are exhibiting a reasoning capacity that is perhaps below primates that we and many others pay handsomely to watch. I think we have the wrong primates cages in the zoos and animal parks.

No different are those posting tribal/species/breed laced blog comments. Blaming this or that, him her.

No democracy is perfect, however civilization has enabled humans to resort to use of brain / reason rather than brawn to solve our differences. Thats why we have judicial systems (flawed as they are) to address differences. We learn we grow, but we uphold the rule of law even when aggrieved. Taking to the streets is not only immature. It is uncivilized, primitive and certainly lacking in reason.

To exhibit hatred, ill wishes, threats, a machete, a rock, a weapon as a display of an attempt to solve a problem is to rob yourself of reason. You are claiming your self a Kenyan yet in all reality it is even doubtful you are a human being yet. Perhaps evolution is a little slow to reach you, eventually it will. In the meantime, until that happens, it is meaningless and folly to engage you in dialogue for it would be like speaking with a primate.

Come on Kenyans, are we the one lagging behind in evolution

The authenticity and credibility of the claims you are putting across is in doubt. I lived all my life in RiftValley and I would be in a better position to comment on this issue. The issue with the post-election violence going on in the region has primarily to do with long term land issues that have been a thorn in the flesh for the people of the region. In 1992 clashes, Hon. William Samoei Ruto was no where in the picture in relation to the clashes, and the Karamanjong had no role to play. So why would it be that now the feature greatly. Lets wake up from this tribal blame game pattern, and embrace reality and reconciliation. And lets stop peddling cheap tribal propaganda.

For you to accuse Ruto you must be out of your mind. He is a reformist who unlike you deals with problems facing regular mwananchi especially the plight of kalenjins by Kibakis gov't. Were karamojas in Rift Valley in 1992? what do u want Kalenjins and the rest of Kenyans other than GEMA do? be silent and see 5 more years of oppression? it's now or never. the writer of this article is tryin to convince the people to direct their energies to other things than tacklin the real issues: injustices. as long as there is continued injustices if Ruto's Militia is for real then that is just but the start.
all this is as a result of greed on Kibaki and his people who want to rule this country as if it is their own house.
the person who should be held responsible for all this is that useless old man called Michuki who gave the order of shoot and kill any person who protests that Kibaki is not the president. If there is anyperson to be investigated i guess Michuki is the first old man to be investigated and determine his role in the killings. Any one who takes away the right of the people to air their anger and feelings in a liberal and peaceful manner will bring the worst in them including acting as Militias.

The problem that we have in Kenya right now are not really complex. Most people just find the Kikuyu objectionable as a people. You need no reason, as shown these days, to hate and kill Kikuyus. The whole ODM campaign is premised on a notion that they are going to get back what 'has been taken', by the Kikuyu. How ridiculous! The people who run Kisumu, unforntunatley, are not Luos, and that is not to say that Luos are incapable. But they choose to pursue things; while the Kikuyus and Indians run businesses. Poor folk who depend on those supermarket jobs went raving and ranting burning down everything, only for the chaos to stop and find out that they no longer have jobs. The fact of the matter is undeniable. The Kikuyus are blessed with business acumen, and they hate nobody. That's is why there are Luos in Thika and elsewhere and there are no murders there. It's high time that we stop the hate and the blame game. Check out my blog at http://totojinga.blogspot.com or just search Msemakweli on google.

So let's assume that all the displaced Kikuyus make their way to Kikuyu land,is the man from the Lake and his clansmen and bedfellows prepared for what is in store for them?
This thing is quickly spiralling into a civil war. We might need to CAN a few members of the so called pentagon members so the country can be spared.Make them disappear like in the old days. How I wish Kenyatta was alive today!
Where is the Mungiki when you need them?
The man from the lake and his partners in crime need to start looking over their shoulders. One of them Machetes might be headed straight for their throats sooner than they think.
It is all gonna come to an end, God
willing.

You would be a fool to believe and suggest one party rigged and the other did not. Oh, well i guess there is always a first time and it so happened to be this past election that one party rigged and the other did not rig at all.

Land issue: Whites intruded some 70 yrs ago give or take. Kenya fought for independence 30 yrs later. My take on this is some communities did not have a clue why Kenya was fighting. 40 yrs later they are fighting for their independence. What's the difference with what the whites did and what Kenyatta did when it comes to land? Brother sister nothing, nothing at all.

An Afican american is born with no baggage with all the opportunities and 30 yrs later has nothing to show for. 1. he/she hates an African cause African as they say take all the jobs and opportunities meant for them. 2. Slavery and racism. 3. Today the focus has shifted to spanish speaking people. Excuse after excuse after excuse when will it ever end? What does slavery has to do with a 30 something dude?

15 yrs ago Somaila people were flushed out of there country today, in Nairobi they are living better than an average Kenyan i beg to ask who's to blame? Or are they next to go?

Look at yourself: Ruto, Odinga, Kibaki, Moi you name them have nothing to do with who, where you are today, its you. The problem is you.

"No Raila No Peace" translates to "No Kibaki No peace" depending on which side you support.

On side got independence 40 yrs ago the other side is fighting for independence today. Who gives in, time will tell.

My take, today, Moi has a better shot at becoming the next president than Raila has and the only way Raila will be a president is if he decides to ask for independence. First president of the Republic of Nyanza. Wouldn't that be sometihng?

The future has everything to offer the past is history it would be sad to see you 30 yrs from now still looking for an excuse or someone to blame.

Raila rigged and so did Kibaki. The only difference was the margin by which one rigged. Raila is not innocent, so is Kibaki!

Am not ashamed to say that the Kikuyu's fought for the indepedence for all kenyans. For the guys calling Ruto a hero, what should we call the true hero like Dedan Kimathi and Mzee Jomo Kenyatta?

Why didn't the Kikuyu and luos kill each other during former President Moi regime? For 24 years that Moi ruled we experienced poverty, poor economy, illitracy, murders to mention but afew. Where was Raila come Pentagon then? Have you seen Raila on the forefront demonstrating like other paid thugs/hummer?

The killings have nothing to do with the elections, Ask Ruto the Arap and Ntimama. They would rather have all the land in the Rift Valley and loose their soul! What a gain. Call it cheap propaganda! We are getting updates everyday, Hon. Ruto might be a Hon. for the inmates! Soon

My fellow Kenyans,
I am a kenyan, one who has had the privilege of living with the Luo, the Kalenjin, the Kisii, and others. I am Kikuyu. I have read all the above dialogue with much sadness. It is clear from it what is eating our nation: Ignorance. As a Kikuyu, I know, as any half brained Kenyan does, that the election had some serious problems. But really, Odinga or Kibaki, the end result would have been the same: The pooir people of Kenya would have remained what they have always been: Hard working, honest, hopeful, suffering, and poor. On that note, we all need to wake up and realize one thing. In Kenya there are ACTUALLY ONLY TWO TRIBES: The politicians, and the rest of us. ON that note, Kibaki, Raila, Ruto, and the other parliamentarians are one tribe. Real brothers. They live in palatial homes, with guards at the gate. They go to Europe for medical treatment, and they would not even take their cow to Kenyatta hospital, Kisumu Provincial, or any hospital in Kenya. They travel in government maintained cars, and they enjoy fat salaries. ALL OF THEM. Presently, the population in KIbera has destroyed two kms of railway line. I have travelled that line to the rift valley, and I have been out all the way to Kitale, Kisumu, etc. It is an important line for the common KEnyan (the second tribe, the rest of us). Now that it is destroyed, the poor Luo who was hoping for pricews to stay down and the price of malariaquin to stabilize will suffer this coming rainy season. So will the Kikuyu who lives in Kisumu, and the Luhya who lives in BUtere. But Kibaki, Ruto and Raila will never mourn the railway line. They never use it. Raila flies to Kisumu. Kibaki has a government jet. Ruto can fly to Eldoret.
When I lived IN kericho, I (kikuyu) visited many Kalenjin homes. I am of the opinion that the most generous, givng people in Kenya are Kalenjins and Muslims. When I went to High school, I shared cofee and toothpaste with some Luos. We drank tea from the same cups, and we huddled togetherer for the same cup of coffee which we passed on from person to person. We had little, very little. As far as life in Kenya goes, these luos, Kalenjins and some Luhyas we shared the dormitory with were my brothers.
The problem now is that Ruto and Kibaki and Moi and Odinga would have us believe if one of them is in power, that tribe eats. I can go to a court of law to defend many kikuyus because when Kenyatta was president, many of us did not eat. The eaters were Kenyatta, Moi, Odinga Snr (I personally have a lot of respect for Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, and I believe he should be more prominet in Kenya's history books than he is now), Kibaki, etc. But all ppoliticians who were anti Kenyatta told their tribes the Kikuyu were eating. All I remember during KEnyatta's time were the many days I was home without school fees. During MOi's reign, I lived in Kericho. Although I live out of the country now, I still visit Kericho when I go home. It is my second home in Kenya, although I have no land there. I love the town, and the community around it. Anyone who thinks the Kalenjins were eating during Moi's time should go see how hard working the Kalenjin community is, and how many of them I saw could not buy sugar. I met many a Kalenjin during the Moi era who were without. I saw many die at the little equipped Kericho hospital, which Moi never visited (or any other politician except maybe the local politicians). But when Moi and Kibakin travelled in the Kericho and Nyanza area, they stayed at the Highland hotel. You have to be one of this tribe to afford it.
The Luos and the Kikuyus now living and dying in Kibera are brothers. and their relatives are in Mathari. Here, they live on 100 shillings a day--when they get it. When Omolo's son gets sick, they ask Kamau's wife to lend them 50 shillings. KIbaki and Odinga are usually at the Intercontinental, paying sh300 for a soda. Now that tribe wants Kenyans to get up and fight, and on this blog, that is what you are doing, my brothers. If you are LUo, you are as much my brother as the Kalenjin or Nandi in the Rift valley. If you don't believe it, go to Kenyatta hospital. Your mother and my mother will be lying in neighboring beds, dying without medicine. You and I will have left our children at home, to come to the hospital to care for our parents. ON the bed across the isle will be Mama Choge, dying also, without medicine. the pain, frustration, fear, hand hopelessness on thier faces will know no tribe. It will be our mothers, one dying as surely as if she was the other, dying under the same system of operation. If you get to the hospital before I do, please prop our mothers up for comfort. I will do the same when I get there. Kibaki, Odinga, and Ruto will not be there. Their tribe will be in another hospital, or at the intercontinental, waiting for us to get home and fight to secure their comfort. So, what tribe a re you now?

About all this issue of People saying that Mr Rutto is sponsoring the violence in the rift is total lie. What you ought to know is that people don't like Kibaki no more and this was clearly shown by the number parliamentary seats that he got.Massive rigging that Kibaki did is what made people upset and thus makes them demand their rights of voting.Who doesn't know that elections was rigged?so if you that then, stop talking thrash.Rutto is innocent. He is fighting for the truth!!

poleni sana!!!!! are the only fit words i can use for now.each one of us can defend the person/persons they voted for,Kabaki be prezi or Raila be this will not pay for your food or rent.Amukeni ndugu zetu enyi ndio wajibu wetu...killing a kikuyu or any other tribe in kenya will never make it right?

Sikiza wacha kuongea kule ng'ambo tu na kutoa comments ya ujinga ,i am telling you that no one is sponsoring this. But we want our rights.Kibaki and his team are trying to kill us by sending kikuyu soldiers in rift valley to kill kalenjins, luos and other that you know, but i tell you what....Tutaua wote na tutaua mpaka na vifaranga wote.

Am one of those people affected by the clashes. Am not a kikuyu, a luo, Kamba, kisii, meru or a Kalenjin. I saw a woman being killed in nakuru in one of the most brutal way. People are fighting while our leaders are just resting in their houses watching news. we are burning businesses and supermarkets where we work. We are loosing comrades. I cant imagine that a person can destroy a water pipe that takes water to his village and then claim they dont have water. People are destroying electricity poles, the same poles that supply their homes with electricity and then they claim they dont have electricity. Our leaders are going to agree and understand each other and we people are there in the village fighting like fools. we will loose in the end coz Raila will shake hands with kibaki at at last but there will be no Kisumu city, No equity in Kisumu and so many other buildings. Instead of people taking food(looting) in the supermarket, they are burnign it together with the building. I can say that people failed to think for a moment and destroyed property without looking at the outcome. I feel hurt by some kenyans.

Ladies and gentlemen I ask you to put down your machetes, rungus, AK-47's and what have you, and think about a peaceful Kenya that we have all enjoyed. Irrespective of which tribe you come from, we are Kenyans and we will remain Kenyans. Let us not point our fingers at each other because this will not solve the problem, but from what I have seen in the blog, it will create more hatred and spark more fire. Remember that most of you who are talking are somewhere on the streats of the USA enjoying the American dream, but our dear comrades are suffering back home. They look up to us to unite and save them from their misery. We have to do our part and preach peace, unity, justice, and love amongst us. Whether you are a Kikuyu, a Luo, a Kalenjin, Luhya e.t.c.it does not matter. No one is inferior than the other. Therefore, lets stop calling people names. The real issue here is that the whole process of election was flawed, and that is what has caused this problem. Kibaki must realize that there is a big problem here, and people are suffering. They keep thinking that they can just wait a little longer, and the whole thing will go away. They are wrong and mistaken for that. The families who are now suffering have got their friends and ralatives in the military whom they talk to on an everyday basis. The military are also concerned about the future of their brothers and sisters. If Kibaki does not contain this thing now, very soon hell will break loose and he will regret for having underestimated Kenyans. Listen to us Mr. President, you do not want to go down like the likes of Samuel Dore. Like Anna said, you have to make hard choices and let Kenyans have their destiny. Listen!!

Anonymous said...

I agree with you brother. I guess that Karua, Michuki, Saitoti, and the old men have not realized that the military is composed of different tribes and not just one tribe. Soon and very soon if they do not think twice, hell will break loose and they will not have a nother chance. They should remember that Saddam Hussein had all the time to listen to his people and the world. But he refused to listen like Kibaki is doing now. What happened later? He found himself in a small hole and never lived to enjoyed the wealth htat he had grabbed. Kibaki save the future of your children and grnad children. Tell Karua and Michuki to stop mis-advising you.

as i read some of these comments icant help but feel very sad for my country..what has happened to the people? sadnely we have revarted back to the dark ages when we identified ourselves with the tribes we are born into...what happens to aour children who have intermarried and have no idea which tribe they belong to? people have lived together for a long time and were friends.. We work together, drink together, our kids are best friends...yet just because I am not supposed to have a luo friend cos I am a kikuyu?..God help us all...the blood of the dead kenyans is going to hount us all...and it will start with all those corrupt politisians...from all the parties...ODM, PNU..They are all thugs..Have you guys fogoten they were best of friends just a few years ago...Kill each other if you want to...the few who will be left will still be led by the thugs who by now have safely taken thier families to Britain and other places for safety..Kenyan...wake up...this this has nothing to do with tribalism..The leaders are playing with your minds..and your lives..It goes without saying that the election was rigged..from both sides... both sides know this..find a solution..and fast.. stop the bloodshed you crazy leaders...somehow..I love my country and I want this nightmare to stop...so do most of the kenyans.

WOW THERE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A TIME OF RECKONING FOR ALL OF US,
DICTATOR SUHARTO FINALY GONE.
HE IS GOING TO HAVE A CHANCE TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT TO GOD.
I WONDER IF POLITICIANS KNOW/ OR CARE THERE IS A GOD.
PEACE IS PIPEDREAM FOR KENYANS FOR AS LOND AS WE DO NOT INSTITIONALIZE JUSTICE/RULE OF LAW.
THERE IS AN ILLUSION THAT ALL KENYAN COMMUNITIES HAVE LIVED PEACEFULLY AS FRIENDS----BIG LIE!
I BELEIVE THEY LIVED SILENTLY AND SHIED FROM CONFRONTING THE EXISTING PROBLEMS. THERE CAN NOT BE PEACE IN A COMMUNITY THAT WORSHIPS INEQUALITY, TRIBALISM, NEPOTISM AND ALL THE "ZMS",+ massive corruption
THERE IS NO COUNRTY IN THE WORLD THAT EXPECTS TO REAP GRAPES WHEN THEY PLANT THORNS AND THISTLES.
KIBAKI GOVT LIKE THE ONES B4 HIM HAS NEVER BEEN INTERESTED IN CULTIVATING A COUNTRY WHERE THE RULE OF LAW IS SUPREME.
1-THINK ABOUT IT, MOI "RAPING" KENYA FOR OVER 20 YRS(KIBAKI AS A VICE FOR OVER 15),AND THEN KIBAKI BECAME PRESIDENT BUT NOT A SINGLE PERSON, NOT EVEN MOI HAS BEEN PROSECUTED FOR THE "RAPES" COMMITTED DURING MOI GOVT.
DURING KIBAKI GOVT.,WE SAW MAJOR SCANDLAS (YOU KNOW THEM),AGAIN NOT ONE PERSON HAS BEEN PROSECUTED
-DURING KIBAKI RULE., A GOVT VIHECLE IS APPREHENDED TRANSPORTING MACHETIS,WHEEPS to kill people ETC---------THAT'S ALREADY HISTORY
----RUTO AND ODM GUYS ATTACKED BY NYACHAE MILITIA------THAT'S ALREADY HISTORY.
---KIBAKI&CRONIES WANTED US TO BELIEVE THE ECONOMY IMPROVED BY 5-6% AND YOU KNOW THIS IS ALL POLITICS.HOW DID THIS 5% AFFECT THE LIFE OF YOU MAMA OR DAD----ARE TALKING ABOUT 2 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES? ARE TALKING ABOUT ECONOMY OF THOSE PALATIAL NEIGHBORHOODS------
bro& sis remember you can be a tribal war monger if you want to, but the truth is if we do not uphold the rule of law&equality by holding our leaders accountable, Kenya is headed for the dogs.
No one can convince me that we have lived in harmony in Kenya-nonsense and you know it.
We have lived silenty.
Whoever is behind this blog, please consider a shut down, based on some of the hatred/anger being expressed by partisan partcipants .
NO JUSTICE NO PEACE

Yes Raila and his party may have based their campaighn on a fear of hatred or fear of the Kikuyu. Why else would a Maasai taxi cab passenger tell a Kikuyu taxi owner 'Haki ya mungu hii ghari ni yangu tukishida uchaguzi'? Why would people from a certain region bordering Nairobi hold a meeting to lay stakes for houses belonging to Kikuyus? We do know what Raila and leutenants promised their supporters and it would have be nice to see them fail once they got their chance. Perhaps they want to do to Kenya what Kosgey did to Kenya National assuarance.

Hi
The situation is this way. It doesn't matter who stated what coz if we follow that we are heading no where. The situation on the ground right now is that Kenya is at the blink of soci, political and ethnic crisis that honestly will never end. We treat everyone as a friend when we work or go to church together but when its time to take sides one does not want to be termed a deserter of his tribe. As for the Ruto saga he may have a say in it or not. Before we cast any stone on him we should be justified and have enough proof that he is behind it before we start bickering. Power is a vice that can clout one mental faculties and lead once lovable characters to be monster. The other thing that i have with us Kenyans is that why do we have to elect people in office while we know they have pending cases if the cases have a guilty verdict on them what does that reflect to the world that we care less. The trend for voting in Kenya is not what your leader will do for you but how loud he can yell and entertain you during the campaign period. The five letter word TRUST. I have been unfortunate see a dear person to me undergo two arson attacks. 1st was in 92 the other one was afew days ago. The funny thing is that who starts this shit but the neighbor who when visitors come unannounced comes to ur aid. What The opposition wanted atleast in part they have achieved. Majimbo is tha name. The question is though how the heck is it gonna be implamented? Is it through tribal lines. The GEMA head to central, KAMATUSA to R" Valley, LUO's in Nyanza etc or what.Coz quite frankly intertribal associations will continue but with alot of mistrust. Am in the bay area and i have already come to terms with the hatred that we carry and how perverse we are that if something happens in Kenya the same will be ruled over here for we might not be in Kenya but hey we have Kenyanism in us and the same applies here too. I accord Moi for one thing. He had the vision that a multi party Kenya was a cauldron boiling and would one day tip over spilling all its contents.
Destructive politics are usually the last resort but its our 1st we destroy all that stands in our way and later on question ourselves why we did it and wether it was justified. Mob pysc is good but when you are alone and you God thats when the demons will taunt you.
May God help Kenya heal.
Where is the bravado that we had when we attained independence singing Harambee Harambee tujenge pamoja, coz what we are singing now is harambee harambee tuharibu pamoja. Lets try and embrace what we chant when we sing the National Anthem and remain united. Bloodletting has never helped and we have had examples like in Rwanda but seems we have not learnt yet.

I am appalled by how tribally blind you Kalenjins have gotten these days? The mere fact that you have not been moved by the senseless killings of Kikuyus by your fellow Kalenjins is really disturbing. Even if we look at this issue from the perspective that Kibaki rigged the December vote, it still doesn't warrant the wanton and senseless killings that are being perpetuated by Kalenjins! The people who are getting killed are ordinary citizens who had nothing to do with rigging. And by the way, why are Kalenjins rushing to evict Kikuyus from their farms in Rift Valley? It just doesn't make sense you murderers. Stop being tribally myopic and condemn these killings executed by your very own tribes men.

As a Kenyan, I am troubled by the violence going on across the country. Many people have lost lives and property and it is worrying to see the conflict raging on despite the mediation efforts going on in Nairobi. I am particularly troubled to hear words like 'genocide' being used carelessly. I think your organization should know better than that. If there is anything we can learn from what happened in Rwanda, is how the media can be used to destroy a nation. Exaggerating the situation in Kenya only goes to make a bad situation worse. Please use your web site to promote peace rather than to incite Keenyans. That is the last thing we need right now.

All the accusations against hon Rutto is baseless and as a concerned Kenyan, Kibaki and the moutn Kenya mafia stole the lections from kenyans and they should be brought to justice. All those kikuyus calling Kalenjins ignorant should realize that their time is up and the kalenjins will no longer deal with greedy people like them. many are wondering why the kikuyu clergy have not blamed the government for the chaos. During Moi's regime, they were in the forefront in accusing moi of stealing votes. When Kibaki stole last year's elections, they kept quite. this indicates that the kikuyu ckergy are in cahoots with the government and none of them can be trusted. Do not blame Rutto for the violence, instead blame Kibaki for stealing the elections. Kibaki is infact resp[onsible for all the deaths in the country and must be brought to justice.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. Why was Kibaki swon in secretely?
2. Why did not comsult with all Kenyans when he single handedly appointed the his own to the electoral commission.
3. Why are all the cabinet posts held by people from central.
The central mafia will never rule kenya alone. If they dont work together with other Kenyans, the Kikuyu people will continue to suffer at the expense of only one man.

I can seee the passion of that innocent kikuyu condenming the senseless kiling in kenya and especially the rift valley. I can also see that kalenjin passionately fighting for justice and sending a clear message to a few kikuyus who represent a cross section of other kikuyus for wanting to rule by force. One thing is clear - ruto represents a generation of Kenyans - not only the kalenjins that can face the kikuyus head on. Now they, (oh the kibakis and other chiefs) are throwing every cent into the propaganda machine but it is just not working. Now they are rushing to Uganda to train - For your info, the warriors of rift valley upto and including mt. elgon and a section of uganda do not need training, they have been ready! The only mistake the kibakis and his stealing liutenants can do is touch RUTO and now RAILA physically!

Kenyans are deeply divided along tribal lines if comments i have just read are anything to go by. To get into the healing and reconcilliation process requires that we all admit we have failed kenya, irrespective of our tribe. The notion created by people posting comments is that of hate. Kalenjins are trully good people, but have allowed themselves to be used by politicians to make a point. This reminds me of Adolf Hitler, when Germany was facing economic decline with high levels of unembloyment and inflation, Hitler pointed an accusing finger to the jews. Germans came to believe what their leader, Hitler was telling them, that the source of their suffering was the jews. We all know what followed thereafter. Mass killing of innocent jews ensued. This is the kind of scenario politicians are trying to create in rift Valley, in form of tribal chauvinism. My prediction is this: kalenjins might get the so called their land back, but that will be the source of their unending suffering. They will start fighting over the same land they claim was taken from them. I know alot about Kalenjins and their social organization. They are the only comunity in kenya that still practice kinship and still promote clanism. Does somalia sound familiar? They speak one language in somalia but they fight over control of resources along clan lines-think about it. And remember, there is no such tribe as Kalenjin-you can only talk of kipsigis, Nandis, Tugen, Marakwet, and so forth. These tribes unite only when they face a perceived common enemy. Get the enemy out and they turn against each other.
Back to the current affairs, we should now, more than ever promote a sense of nationhood above that of tribe. Patriotism no longer exist, and has been replaced by tribal loyalty. Kenyatta, Moi, and Kibaki have failed all kenyans. Raila has failed kenyans too given his brand of politics. Anyone who promote tribalism for political gain cannot heal Kenya at the moment. Raila is but a tribal chief with dictatorial tendencies, it is either his way or none, he believes. Moi squndered 24 years, a golden opportunity for a visionary leader to rally unity amongst the people. All his cronies did was to loot our money. they run down corporations like KCC, Kenya Re, Nyayo bus, KMC, KGGCU, KPCU, Kenya Railway, Nyayo tea zones, KARI etc. Some like Henry Kosgey, the current ODM chairman misappropriated millions from 1984 all africa games and went ahead to run Kenya Re bancrupt. Meanwhile the common Kalenjin man did not benefit a dime from the loot. But when these looters are threatened they run back to their community with the words like "the kalenjins are being finished." kikuyus benefitted alot from Kenyatta era, but waht they did was to take advantage of the prevailing circumstances after uhuru. They actually bought the land being taken out from them now. Kenyatta at least preached "hakuna cha bure." His only failure was to exclude other tribes from the dinner table, if you like. So it is not tribe or class, lets start by accepting that we have all failed kenya in more than one ways and then chart the way foreward. I personally love all kenyans. They all give me a sense of belonging. I am a Kikuyu by birth, but had an opportunity to grow up in a multi-tribal settings, Luhyas, Kalenjin, and Kisiis. Most of the land issues being brought up by Kalenjins are valid, but there are ways they can be addressed instead of violence. And when addressing the current violence, divorce the issue of stolen election from the land issue in rift valley. They are different issues all together but Raila want us to believe that the killings and mayhem in Rift Valley are a result of election rigging (or so we were made to believe it was rigged)

Jameni Where the hell is the government to reign on the peace. Regardless of the elections results we should not be held hostage to the ideology of No raila No peace even if proved the election results are valid. Moi ruled Kenya for 24years and it seemed like 24days to kenyans, Kibaki - well wait, kibaki did not rule kenya, Mt. kenya mafia just ruled for 5years and it seem like 24years ago since they acquired power. One thing is clear, the Mt. kenya mafia cannot let go of power unless driven out by force. Even the so called boycot may/and will not shake them and thus not work as they can replace the economic loss with the so called national youth and women funds.

Back to these kalenjins. It is amazing how the mt. kenya mafia have come to FEAR RUTO. Michuki and Karua were biting their fingerss when Rotu rose up to talk in parliament durng the election of mr. marende.... the cameraman who took that video could not release it because of the fear of mt. kenya mafias.

All rhetoric aside, the ENEMY hear is INJUSTICE and ARROGANCE, whoever practises or entertains it will be synonymous with with it!

For those watching ANNAn and hoping for a sigh of relieve, save it! 'I am a duly elected president of mt. kenya mafias' the unspoken statement was the loudest, "...if you don't like me, then go to the bush(rift valley)!

I am sad to see that as a Kenyan most of you think that evil has to be pardoned or protected. It is obvious that Ruto is behind the violence that has rocked the country - read independent reports from human rights organizations. Just because most of you are his fans/supporters should not cloud your judgement because once Kenya goes down, we all go down, not the Kikuyus as some of you think, not the Kalenjins or Luos but ALL OF US. Pain does not differenciate between ethnic groups.
I pray that God opens your hearts to realize evil is evil, whether from central or rift valley and should be condemned.

its been a long time since we all used what we had to do what we have not done. you all been arguing on a one minded view, what you like and supporting the ideas that are sweetest to you and most beneficial of course. Well, all these leaders are to be reckoned. They have some classic qualities thats why they are leaders of other people. however they might use these qualities in the wrong way. As for william ruto, the allegations make sense and therefore should provide a good basis for investigation, those who are defending think twice. some powerul figure is behind the violence but who? those who said is him should help with more evidence. As for me that guy needs thorough investigations.

Do you have relatives living in rift valley? If you do not have, please ask me. My auntie left her big home that we have known all our lives. My cousin lays in his grave all alone. With no family sorrounding him. The house lay there vacant, with mould and wild grass around it. We played around the big compound and i know that my auntie hurts a lot. She lost her home to clashes, Her neighbours were killed, and now all that she has is the lost beautiful memory. Now we have cows grazing in the shambas and others have given themselves homes that they did work hard for..My grandmother lives in Eldama Ravine. I do not know where she is hiding right now. How is it that our relatives were getting killed even before the elections?? My heart cries when i think about the women and children killed in the church. May the cries of those who died haunt you untill your death. Who told people that they can take away lives and they are not the ones that created?? What have the children done to deserve to die?? They did not have voters cards to die?? These are poor people. I have attended Margaret's church without the editing that you get on T.V and forgive me but i think that she is a prophet of DOOM!!!I saw the prominent people kneeling in her church!!! If you have such powers to make them kneel, why can't you make them make peace instead of having the crowd applause them screaming Amen!! are you crazy?? Just for single remarks!! Why did he not say that" Jesus help me bring peace and love"!!!Makes me wonder. Margaret, i dare you challenge me!! I am very prayerful!!!Did you know that these people who are fighting are poor youths who have nothing to lose when they burn peoples homes and businesses!!!May the lord intervene!! How is it that the rich in Muthaiga are not fighting withing themselves. They are a whole lot of mixed races and they love each other and laugh at the mayhem. By the way do you know that whether Kibaki or Odinga won the elections, do you know that they do not contribute food to your table??? What do you think will change even after they get to be presidents?? Same old, same old,, Do i get a witness. These people who were killing children, i am sure you do not have children of your own!! YA you better use your language because kenyans don't even understand the same language they use in the state house boardroom.

See the kikuyu new they could handle raila and Nyanza uprising - what they did not envision is RUTO carrying rift valley for raila and that is a headache now for the mt. mafia.

They are now hasting blindly and desperately to silence him before it is too late. The message is on the wall, Ruto is the man to watch politically. he is the taking on the schooling of MOI but this time round, educated, no-nonsense politician the kikuyu are crying for his throt.

The message is, it is now too late for the mt. kenya mafia to act. Ruto is in the blood of Luos, some luhyas and NOT TO MENTION the KALENJINs. Being in the kenyan army, as much as professional our military is, it will definately be at kibaki's power hungry kikuyu to protect him at all cost if peace is really in their mouth - which know they are not. My kikuyu relative/friend married to my sister and a top major is briefing us on the deployments going on to align kikuyus strategically - for the foreseen 'military last resort as he says!
The other communities do not need to deploy - all they need is their commander to blow the whistle!

Most of the comments I have read here show how difficult It will be to bring democary in Kenya. If we keep blaming each other among tribal lines, we going down as a country.Land disputes have been there all the years. Moi was in the government and kaleos gained. Henry Kosgey, Ruto's brother and many others. The reality is the violence will continue as long as the leaders are funding them and are not willing to stop. Whether is Kibaki or Odinga in power.Kisumu and Rift valley violence was organized long before elections. The only solution here is to have fresh presidential elections and neither Odinga nor Kibaki is a candidate. Both leaders are trying to protect their own intrest. One thing is for sure the police force must step up security. There is no democartic country out there that will let the people carry weapons and throw stones to law enforcement with out exchange of live fire. If Odinga does feel demonstrators are being fired on by police may be he should advice them not to throw stones and destroy property. Kenyas pray for our country we could be the next Sudan.

I have read this with some disgust. Three items .. One, Ethnic cleansing. Raila was politco-ethnically cleansed from central province. If Kikuyus are economically enthrenched in every part of Kenya, they should learn to foster unity other that arrogance and dominance. If Kikuyus cannot understand the people's voice via the ballot ....
Answer this.. Where are the Njoyas, Gitaris, Musyimis, Wamweres, Nzekis and other leaders that spoke clearly and articulately against Moi's injustices? Is it because the injustice is perpetrated by GEMA and is therefore 'justice' and acceptable? When we see this we see Kenyatta era and Mboya, JMK, Arwings Kodhek; Moi and 'Ouko' AND now, GEMA and democracy in Kenya.

Two, Karamajong Guerillas. Violence in Kenya was spontaneous following the rigging of presidential election.Thats the root cause of all these... How naive that a California Foundation fails to speak against the rigging. I live in Texas, miss home and wish to go to Kisii town and organise the Abagusii in a peaceful demo against an illegitimate 'government'. Please note that the burly Nyanchae who sings circumcision song in public is home singing the same songs in the boardroom of Sansora enterprises ...

Three, Loss of life and life and life. Kibaki and the likes of Michuki, Kivuitu and Gicheru are a disgrace to Kenya. They have put the industrious but selfish Kikuyu on the firing line. Protest will remain the game plan until honest and true justice is done.

If dying in the name of democracy is justifiable then how comes no one takes this stands for more solid issues? how comes no one kills because their children are sick and he cannot get them healthcare? how comes people dont kill because they have a degree and are jobless? truth of the matter is that majimbo was preached b4 the elections and if Raila won the elections the cleansing would still be going on. Right now they can say it is because Kibaki stole the elections. First of all irregularities were reported both in Kibaki and Raila's turf. In my opinion both stole the elections only one did a better job of it. Now I dont think I want any of those leaders being presidents, the last parliament was corrupt and they all ought to go home. All these people are damn old, they are leaving us with their issues, its funny how you can hate someone coz of where they come from, I propose that ethics and civics should be taught to the young ones because only unethical person would kill is neighbour because they want their land. And when you get the land what are you going to do with it?

Just because Ruto stood up,and unleashesd his skilled verbal tactics which has impressed all indepedent kenyans including me,the Kibaki attack dogs were suprised by his skilled political manaeuvre,So the only way to fight that is to accuse him of herneous crimes which are unfounded,He reminds of a young malcom, or A muhammed Ali

In the first place anybody commenting from abroad has to think twice before putting those words or message for poeple to read.If you will be asked to give an evidence of Mr Rutto supporting the killing will you be able to? What distance is Califonia and Kenya stop separating Kenyans with your silly propaganda. We need peace in Kenya. You are enjoying a better life where you are, so shut your mouth and let Kenyan live in a peaceful way. Shame on you who like propaganda. Make sure whatever you write next time is the message you personaly see but not what you've been told by other stupid people. I pray for you and the poeple who are poisoning you with dity message.

Thanks to all contributors in here. Am so sudden by whoever thinks that Rutto is the force behind this killings, Sorry Bro/ sis you have no idea what the hell you are talking about, you have no damn clue of what is going on in Kenya. You really need to do alot of homework. All the the stuff you have written is total rubish. You should be preaching justice, fairness and that is the what will stop this violence. Just to correct some of you, Moi is not a Nandi ok!!!! and also a piece of advice. If our brothers and sisters in central had done family planning, properble the the land in central could have been enough for them to share. Last but not least, my best/greatest friend is a Kikuyu and what he usually tells me is that " A nice Kikuyu is a dead one."
My God intevene the crisis in our beloved country and that my justice prevail.

I think that it is very strange for a person in Ca to have all the detailed information of what is happening in Rift Valley and Nyanza to begin with. Secondly, you all invoke the name of God while tearing each other apart based on tribal and education bias. It is my opinion that the person blaming the Karamajong, Ruto and Luo connection for the violence in Kenya is a complete idiot with very little or no knowledge of of Kenyan history and landscape.

It will do us all good if you keep your stupidity to yourself and don't destroy Kenya's treputation with such cheap shots which only magnifies the tribal differences...

HUMAN BEINGS. IT WAS JUST THE OTHER DAY KENYAN EARTH WAS SHAKING FOR 2 WEEKS AND EVERYONES TAIL WAS ON THE INSIDE.

NOW WE ARE DISPLAYING HOW READY WE ARE TO DIE ON THIS BLOG BY THE EMOTIONS DISPLAYED HERE.

RUMOURS OF WATER BEING POISONED, POLICE COMMISSIONER AND ARMY GENERAL HAS RESIGNED, NOW THAT THE ARMY IS RAGING TO ALIGN KIKUYU NAME IT.

ALL YOU GUYS ON THIS BLOG KNOW JUST SO WELL, FOR YOU TO BE ON THIS FORUM THAT EACH HUMAN BEING MUST WORK TO EAT AND MEET HIS NEEDS IRREGARDLESS OF WHO IS THE PRESIDENT OR WHERE YOU ARE. THIS IS NOT USA WHERE THERE IS SOCIAL SECURITY CASH AND AM SURE EVEN THOSE IN THE USA DONT JUST SIT.

POLITICIANS WENT TO RWANDA, A WAY OF PUBLICITY AND APPEARING IN OUR NEWS OF HOW THEY WITNESSED THE GENOCIDE.

KENYANS YOU ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE. TALK OF KIKUYUS, KALES, LUOS ITS RUBBISH. I WAS BLESSED BY GOD TO TRAVEL TO RWANDA LAST YEAR FOR FOUR MONTHS ON OFFICIAL CAPACITY, AND TRAVELLED ROUND THE WHOLE COUNTRY. I SPOKE WITH RPF SOLDIERS, I SPOKE WITH HUTUS AND TUTSIS, I SAW THE GENOCIDE MEMORIAL SITES THAT ARE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY LIKE CHURCHES.

NO ONE YOUNG OR OLD IN RWANDA WHO SURVIVED CAN NARRATE THIS ORDEAL CONTINOUSLY FOR 20MINUTES. IT HAUNTS THE INNER SELF TO REMEMBER ALONE.

I HAVE JUST SEEN WHAT IN NAIVASHA PEOPLE ARE NOW CALLING REVENGE! I HAVE SEEN A PERSON REMOVED FROM A MATATU BLOCKED BY YOUTHS, CUT ON THE HEAD AND IMMEDIATELY STONED TO DEATH LIKE A THEIF WITH CHANTS OF UWA UWA ON NTV CAMERA FOOTAGE, POOR SOUL. THIS IS NOW REVENGE ON A MEMBER OF "THEIR COMMUNITY"

THOSE WHO ARE TALKING SO MUCH HATRED FROM THE USA, MAY GOD FORGIVE YOU AS YOU ARE INCITING PEOPLE WHEN YOU THINK YOU ARE IN SAFE HAVEN. PLEASE KNOW THAT GOD WILL JUDGE ALL THE INNOCENT AND GUILTY IN HIS OWN TRUTH. AS ONE HUMAN BEING, CAN YOU PLEASE IMAGINE YOURSELF INFRONT OF GOD FACING THIS JUDGEMENT? EVEN IF YOU IGNORE OR THINK AM A FOOL, IT WILL HARDLY BE MORE THAN 100 YEARS ATMOST BEFORE EVERYONE READING THIS WILL BE HAVE DISSOLVED INTO IN THE EARTH(SOIL) WHERE YOU ALL CAME FROM, NO MATTER WHAT EXCELLENCY, KNOWLEDGE, LAND, MONEY, POWER , INFLUENCE OR TRIBE YOU ARE.

IT IS YOUR CHOICE AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND I HOPE THIS HATE SPEECH STOPS AND PEOPLE TALK WITH SOME REASONING.

we can all write millions and millions of words for or against whoever, but remember those illiterate fellows roaming the hills and valleys of rift valley with bows and arrows thirsting for kikuyu blood don't understand what is going on. Most of them have got nothing to lose for they have got nothing anyway. Moi tried to finish kikuyus but was unable. The british tried it before, and failed miserably. It is now Ruto's turn, lets see how far he will go. Expecting kikuyus to lie low like envelopes, as they put it is misguided. Kenya's equation is unbalanced if kikuyu is not factored in. Kikuyu's can all go to central as kalenjins argue. If they do then what? Believe me am pro majimbo because central can accomodate all kikuyus and am sure they will come out stronger than ever from this crisis. Kikuyus are endowed with admirable resilience whatever the situations. They can overcome any problem as they have done before. Be steadfast brothers and hang on, we shall overcome this persecution. You are hated for who are, Agikuyu. You have always worked hard, and have never looked up for the government for help. You stole no one's votes. you lined up to vote just like any other kenyan, and now they say you have to pay for exercising your democratic right. It does not matter how long you will suffer, you are the victors and they are the villains. The Rutos and their evil dids will go to hell.

The problem that is facing Kenya will only end when mount Kenya mafia stop bulling other tribes. There is no way Kibaki could have won the election by only winning central province.
The kikuyus only can not and will not fight the rest of kenyans and win.Even if it is the Gema people, the situation is going to get dangerous by the day for gema. Now, kikuyus are burning other tribes and there should be retaliatory strikes from our worriors.Majimbo started long time ago because no body else can live in central other than kikuyus.Pray for peace and let kibaki step down now rather than latter.

The issues raised during 2007 elections were very clear. There was massive rigging especially in favour Kibaki. And even before the election there were complains of a plan to rig the election. People in authority didn,t listen. people in authority didn,t act.

Next Kivuitu had the powers to look into the issue. To me he appeared so rude to people of Kenya and went ahead and did what he wanted. Not what the people of Kenya send him to do. This was simple mathematics, votes were cast, they were counted under the eyes of ODM, PNU, international Observers and other parties. How come it was so difficult to verify the election results from to peoples satisfaction? Kivuitu behaved as if he had never gone to school. He is very stupid. Now look at the suffering he has caused to kenyans. I am very sure that if Kivuitu and the goverment side had acted justly no one would have been killed after the disputed election. The 2002 election is a clear example. Tallying was done properly, Election results were announced on time and everything was verified. As a result Kenyans never caused trouble. Uhuru and his godfather conceeded defeat and Kenyan went back to their businnessess Did you hear of any riots or post election violence. Kenyans want to see justice done and what they are doing fighting one another is one way of expressing their anger and disatisfaction. Kibaki, Kivuitu you failed us. You robbed us of our democracy. You robbed the electorate. You should all resign and be send to jail.

Kibaki and his Mt. Kenya Cronies are Responsible for Kenyan Violence. Don't blame Hon. Ruto, Kenyans want Hon. Raila as their President.

The organization called People Foundation, Inc, Social Transformation is a Kikuyu means of spreading cheap propaganda.

Guys, you should know that Kenya is bigger than Kikuyus. And who is not aware of the Kikuyus criminal activities in the country? They commit crimes and they go free because the laws are at their mercy. Look at the big scandals in Kenya, who caused them if not Kikuyus? Goldenberg, Anglo leasing just to metion afew. In Kenyan History, Kikuyus are known to be best thieves. They would still even babies still in the mothers womb. Drop a coin near a dead Kikuyu body to test this truth! Gang activities in Kenya have always been propelled by the Kikuyus. Most cases of bank robberies, Estate killings and robberies, kidnappings, car jarckings, rapes, and all kinds of violence have always been the Kikuyu's way of living. Most of the properties the Kikuyus own in Kenya today have been acquired through some sort of ill practices. Who can trust a Kikuyu in Kenya?

Now they have gone to the point of stealing democracy from Kenyans. They stole election, why was Kibaki being sworn in, in the darkness? Thieves prefer darkness because they can easily get away with what they steal. Kibaki tried it but he was caught by all Kenyans who are now demanding him to return their property, Presidency!

People Foundation, Inc, Social Transformatiom is first to point fingers at Hon. Ruto and the Karamajong. They should first think of the Kikuyu mafia who have committed gross criminal activities all over the country, even to the extent of unearthing dead bodies. Look at the Mungiki! Who sponsers them if not Kibaki's allies. Thus Kibaki has a hand in this gang machineries. What about the genocide they have committed, who has ever been prosecuted? The Kibaki's court would always set them free after few months. How about Kibaki misusing the police forces to shoot and kill only Luos? Now that the Violence is in Naivasha, how comes that the police have not shot any of the Kikuyus who are terrorizing the residents? In Kisumu the Luos did not terrorize anybody, they were on a peaceful demonstration but the police used live bullets on them. Kibaki is responsible for this genocide and ethnic cleansing in Kenya. He should tell the world how he planned to use the police force to clear the members of Luo tribe from Kenya.

The propaganda talks of Hon. Raila disassociating himself with Hon. Ruto has no base. Why can't Kibaki disassociate himself with his hardliners? Kibaki is the man who is responsible for the acts of violence in the country. Stop blaming Hon. Ruto. If Kibaki would have not stolen the election, Kenya would be as peaceful as usual. Hon. Ruto is not responsible for Kenyan Violence, Kibaki is. Kibaki, return what you stole and let Kenyans live in peace!

FELLOW KENYANS.... THE REASON WE ARE WHERE WE ARE IS BECAUSE OF THE WORDS AND HATRED SPEWED AMONG THESE COMMENTS.

TRUTH IS, YOU CAN FIGHT EACH OTHER, KIKUYU, LUO, KALENGIN,KISII, LUHYA...... BUT IN KENYA THERE ARE ONLY TWO TRIBES.....

THE RICH, AND THE POOR.

YOU DO NOT SEE RUTO HACKING HIS NEIGHBOUR IN KAREN OR MUTHAIGA, OR KIBAKI DOING THE SAME, OR RAILA.... THEIR CHILDREN GO TO THE SAME SCHOOLS, TRIPS ABROAD, AND DURING SUCH TENSE TIMES, ARE SHIPPED ABROAD.... MEANWHILE THE OTHER "TRIBE" HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE, AND BLAME EACH OTHER FOR THEIR POVERTY.THEY DIE ON THE STREETS, THEIR HOUSES ARE BURNT, THEIR CHILDREN AND WOMEN KILLED AND RAPED.

AMKENI WANANCHI!

Kenyans must wake up to reality. The problems in Kenya is not about tribe, it's about the poor and the oppressed fighting the rich.Who suffers in the event, look closely the death toll, people without shoes, poor, poor wanainchi.Kenya need a leader who can unite people from all walks of life.Kibaki and Raila are having it nice and peacefull while poor Kenyans are killing each other.Get rid of the two, we need a uniter not a tribal leaders.Kenyans must learn to live together for benefit of peace.Shame on Kibaki and Raila. Both have taken us back to colonnial days. What a shame.
No matter which tribe you come from, Kenyans wake up people!!!!.

Not unless you are part of the establishment can one talk like that.Right from Herambee of Kenyatta, who owned bank robbery thugs, promoted tribalism,Hightened corruption, political assasinations and all sorts of dirty vices, then came Moi with his slogan fuata nyayo and now Kibaki still wants these to go on "kazi iendelee".We have not forgotten. We dont have small brains that you think you want to derail.I pitty the small brains which published the statement. You must be part of that illegitimate government.Mr.Kibaki must give Kenyans what they deserve.

Why so much hate for the Kikuyu and only a few stole the votes?

Why revenge against an innocent life who did nothing to you?

Why simply support obvious evils until when it affects you or your close relatively? Are you waiting for that moment?

Can you Kenyans wake up from your madness before you start singingeach other war songs? Do you know that if it takes that direction no one will be spared No matter what community you are?

Is this what your parents taught you?

Can you think about all the innocent children below 5 years who know nothing about all this mess?

When you use "we" stop and think who you are talking about. Who are mount kenya mafia? Does such a thing exist? All kenyans have been braiwashed by selfish politicians and partisan press. Kenyans use terms loosely without understanding what they mean. What is preached by politicians is taken as gospel truth in kenya. Just like the phrase "election was stolen"and idiots believe that, indeed they were. Absolutely no election was stolen, the election was free and unfair (not fair). There is no such thing as absolute free and fair election. That is why ODM dont want to go to court, because the election was unfair, and proving unfair election is a task, because the court must understand what unfair and free election means. So ODM option is to make the country ungovernable. Unfortunately, mama mboga and wanjiku in the street has to suffer in the process. Mean while Kibaki is sleeping soundly in state house. Afterall, he reasons, he is an old man approaching his demise. All the rest of us, irrespective of which side of the isle you are, got to suffer. Chepngeno has been delivering milk to several residents at Langas estate in Eldoret. She have been able to raise fees for her two daughters in high school. Since december 31st she hasn't sold any milk as all her customers have fled or camping in police station. she has no money. Her husband sings all day kibaki and kikuyu must go, of cause after drinking busaa and some beer looted from a kikuyu bar in eldoret. Free beer plus lose of livelihood is destroying chepng'eno family. So if you think Kikuyu's are the only ones suffering think again. We (kenyans) are systematically destroying ourselves. We are a mirror image of each other across the isle of what divide us. Good thing about life is that it is very fair, of cause some say life is unfair when envy and jelous takes the lead. You cannot burn defenseless women and children in church and think you will live free enjoying life. One way or other life will catch up with you. That is proven fact even if you keep relegion aside. As Chepngeno demonstrate we all depend on each other for sustainance in the modern economic setting. War and violence should have been the last resort, but we chose it first. Unfortunately, if you do benefit cost analysis, cost outways the benefit to all. Sad thing! aaahh...

What a shame!!!! Innocent people losing their lives and properties and they had nothing to do with whatever happened after the election. If Odinga or Kibaki teams decided to get along today, most of their supporters, (including you all contributing to this blog supporting one side or the other) will not see or reap any benefit because one or the other so called leader is in power. Yet, we read how passionate everyone is fighting for their rights? What rights? Your rights are to be safe in the home or community you have chosen to live in as a Kenyan resident. This regardless of who did or did not win an election. Where are the churches, mosques, community leaders of goodwill? Why are some people thinking their tribe, economy status, or whatever else, is important than this country called Kenya? Somebody wake my up when all these madness is done.

THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THE PROBLEM WE FACE TODAY IN KENYA WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE FOCUSING ON THE SMOKE. THE SOLUTION IS TO PUT OUT THE FIRE - THE CAUSE OF ALL THESE CHAOS. KIBAKI MUST STEP DOWN! AS MUCH AS YOU WANT TO PUT RUTO IN BAD LIGHT, PEACE REIGNED IN KENYA (PER KENYAN TERMS) UNTIL PEOPLE IN CENTRAL CUT OUT ELECTRICITY AND RAN AWAY WITH FORM 16As FOR THREE DAYS AFTER WHICH KIBAKI DISHONORED HIMSELF BY CLAIMING TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF KENYA. HE HAS DONE ENOUGH HARM ALREADY AND NEEDS TO GO HOME TO OTHAYA SO THAT THE SITUATION CAN AT LEAST BE CURBED BEFORE IT GETS EVEN WORSE.

First and foremost, l have to identify myself as one of the problems existing not only in Kenya but in the whole of Africa. Most of these comments have valid claims, a rigged election by sides, ethnic cleansing, land disputes, pure hatred and malice. However, as l said earlier am the biggest problem for not only Kenya but Africa as a whole. Why, because l have an identity, l am me but most of all l am a kikuyu have friends who are Luos,Kalenjins,Kaos,Merus,Embus you name it, the list goes on and on. The main problem therefore my friends is us, our 42 tribes living in the same nation, am telling you if Africans or Kenyans don’t stop this stupid tribalism stuff we are going to annihilate ourselves from the face of the earth, faster than any epidemic, faster than AIDS, faster than the plague, faster than the Spanish influenza, am in California right now, as one of the people said am in a foreign country seeking destitute. However, all the veins in my entire body are craving for blood right now coz l detest the idea of my tribe being wiped out. On the other hand, l know fighting will never bring peace to anyone or anyplace. Like Obama, l have hope for our Kenyan children, hope?? Most of you would ask. Yes, hope l said my beloved countrymen, l grew up with friends from Nairobi and Nakuru who cant speak a single Kikuyu word, most people there speak English, sheng or swa you know. So in the generation of their children, no one will speak Kikuyu for instance, and you know why l like it, the identity will start fading. The tribes will fade faster than the principles of osmosis and diffusion can explain. Am telling you Kibaki is a hero in my heart, not because he is the president but because he has laid all the foundations that we need to reach to the Africa we all dream off. The foundations of education. Free primary and secondary education are you kidding me, you still think he is not a hero, you are just a hater, if you dont think so.You are not a hater of Kibaki, or the Kikuyu, hell to the no but you are hater of the Kenya, a hater of the Africa we all deserve to live in.

You must be so ignorrant and really unaware of how great an impact there is/or will be to get rid of mt. kenya mafia from from managing the national resources. Kibaki is just a puppet - the accident in 2002 unfortunately took away his stature as an independent person and the mafias so an opportunity.

This blog is not run by some impassonator in CA, USA, The mafia are financing this blog to run down a kenyan son of current politikal wave - William Ruto.

The DAILY NATION run by the nation group and financed by the same mafia have shamelessly put it, NOT ONCE, but TWICE on the front page of Daily nation online.

Does anyone need to be told a sign of desparation?

the same mafia tried to state that they would not seat around the same table with Ruto! well I believe they ate their same words when they ran to kofi annan set table with ruto as Raila right hand man!

I believe ODM has done the donkey work for kenyans of good will. The only thisng remaining is for anti - mafia to produce a KNOCK OUT PUNCH!

I don't usually pray, but for the problem facing Kenya, and we have not seen nothing yet,we will need a miracle to keep our eyes dry. The answer is in Kibaki's hands; but his hardline handlers keep him in denial mode. If he really loves his people, he would have done a few things and stopped all these killings. It is counterproductive transferring blame to Raila, Ruto, or Luos. All the above are still grieving of deaths and losses caused by Kibaki.Be fair, you Kikuyus. I know you lost much too; but you too should blame Kibaki.Other matters, Kenya leaders from Kenyatta robbed other tribes, particularly in Rift Valley and Western of their land, and settled huge number of Kikuyus. The Masais and other normadic tribes jointly own those lands for their survival. What did these leaders think, trying to teach the Masais farming and other new ways of survival. The lands must go back to their rightful owners. When your car is stolen from you and you traced the thief and found your car, what do you do? I believe you find ways to recover it. These tribesmen have sought help fro government authorities including MOI, but without success. Kibaki's pronounced win spontaneously triggered the anger of most Kenyans. Meanwhile instead of the government acting rationally and send sufficient number of police in Rift Valley, Kibaki sent a huge group of police, military and Uganda army to terrorize Luo land. What a miscalculation. Even in Nairobi the Police failed to do their jod fairly.Luos were targetted even before Kibaki stole the elections. Now he knows the country is in a mess, he is begging for Raila's help.Wuodomboga.

What Kenyans want Raila as president? 4 million people voted for him. Kenya has a population of thirty million. Kibaki never made a big thing of how ODM rigged the elections, l am sure when he heard of what was happening in Rift valley and Nyanza he decided to give them a taste of their own medicine. We all now know ODM rigged just as badly as PNU. Who started it? We will never know. None is innocent.
What l read here is pure hatred, it smells of envy and jealousy. Kikuyu never stole their land, they bought it, from the same people who are killing them now.
That you chose to kill babies, mothers, grandmothers, grandfathers and the disabled shows how insane your jealousy has made you.
When Hitler burnt the Jews in gas chambers he thought he had a right to do so.
l believe most Kales {l say most for l know some are horrified by what is happening} are wishing they had the same kind of gas chambers to put in all Kikuyus. This is for sure their private fantasy. But the Jews are still around, still owning banks and a big chunk of the economy in Germany.
God does not allow murderers of the innocent to get away with it. But he is merciful to forgive and right now You should seek the Him with all your hearts and pray for the sins committed by your Kin

Now since last week I interviewed and hired a Kalenjin in my office, did you guys expect me to reject his application when he is qualified academically and experience over "HATE FOR KALES" ?

I have no truth whether Kibaki stole the election of whether Ruto is guilty of the above accusations. Is that reason for me to hate my 3 Luo colleagues in the office, the Kisii guard at our Building, the friends Nandi (Who lost his brother last week thanks to the violence) , Kikuyu (whose 15 family home was burnt in Eldoret) and Taita (Whose 2 sisters and a niece were locked in and burnt in a rented house (Mombasa) by hooligans claiming the house belongs to a Kikuyu?
I WILL NOT. LET WHOEVER WANTS TO DO SO DO IT WITH THEIR HEIGHTS OF EMOTION.

WE WILL PROTECT EACH OTHER ANYTIME ONE OF US IS IN DANGER, I WILL ALWAYS TALK TO THEM, AND SHARE A LIVING TOGETHER AS WE HAVE ALWAYS DONE.

For the rest, May God help us and our country.

no peace can prevail with no justice. we have all seen in the news how kibaki is not taking the mediation efforts seriously...he still declared to be duly elected. kibaki needs to know he cant be president with only GEMA supporting him. there are other communities in kenya and they chose who they thought would redeem them. what moi did in 24 years, kibaki did in 5!
what's going on in kenya is sickening, but its needed. democracy is expensive and i respect all those who died in search of it. as for the police using excessive force... this is 2008... youtube is alive and we can see you! watch out stupid GOK. you are responsible for the suffering of the common man. be it kikuyu, kale or whatever. the mt. kenya mafia... judgement day is coming. and kibaki... the blood of those killed during the violence you caused is on YOU SQUARELY.

Kibaki is the legitimately elected president of the republic of kenya as per the current constitution of kenya until a court of law investigates the alledged election fraud and rules otherwise. It calls for a great deal of civility to solve the mess we are in. ODM is engaging in political hooliganism instead of using the institutions in place to channel their grievances. There is alot that ODM want to keep secret about the just concluded election, like what happened in Kisumu East, where it was reported there was practically no election, and ballot papers were just marked and stashed in boxes. Of cause Raila is aware of what happened in Nyanza and is afraid if he goes to court some of these fraud will come as a surprise to many. He is now using unorthodox method to ascend to power. Kenyans need to learn alot from our politicians and stop taking them seriouly. 2002 it was kibaki tosha, by then Ruto was nothing but Uhuru na kazi. All these associations and political groupings are marriages of conviniences. Today Kibaki and Raila are sworn enemies. I wonder where all those making war cries will be when Raila and Kibaki will be throwing a home-coming party together in the future. Remember Moi and Kibaki 2002. Raila and Moi before when the former abandoned NDP to join KANU. It is all a game of power and the kenyan people have fallen victims. Kenyans should shun politics and channel their energies in bettering themselves and caring for their families. I personally cannot kill a human being in the name of a politician or politics for that matter. Kibaki or Raila, I wont give a damn.

We must say no to violence. No-one should lose their life for voting. No-one should be killed because of their ethnicity. Every Kenyan has the inherent right to own property anywhere in the country, without living in fear. All kenyans must respect the rule of law, must realize that all life is sacred. We have courts to air our grievences, if they don't work then we must change institutional frameworks to ensure they work for everybody. No vote is worth the chaos, mayhem & bloodshed unleashed on innocent civilians. We have to insist that people behave like civilized human beings, not wild anmials. Those who planned this bloodshed must be prosecuted, all the dead, maimed, orphaned, and psychological destroyed must find a way to move on. We cannot let this happen again. 50 innocent women and children burned alive in a church, the civilized must say NO! As such, we as Kenyans must stand up and be counted!

Sign the petition for justice to prevail.

In ref to the following comments
"In a decent society, what we need in Kenya is someone who is going to unite the country regardless which tribes he / she belongs. The president who is fair / strong and understands about all tribes in Kenya and willing to move the country to the world class ecomonic power", it has been proven by the violence that Kenya is not a decent society and we don't have someone who can unite the country. The economic disparity is a huge cause of this violence. Kenya was a volcano waiting to erupt. Maybe Kenya needed to go through something like this in order to take a good hard look at itself. ALL TRIBES IN KENYA ARE NOT EQUAL! FACE THE FACTS.

It is interesting now that the so called "enemy" has started retaliating is when "HON Ruto" decides to condemn the violence. A month after the killing started! What kind of a leader is that? And if you still believe the killings were unplanned and not premeditated, you need to get you head out of the proverbial sand.

Here is an article about real leadership - http://www.eastandard.net/print/news.php?articleid=1143979994

The folks who are claiming that Kibaki rigged the elections - do you realize that there is another half of the country saying that he won? There are ways to challenge his election, and violence is not one of them. And if you belive that the violence is related to Kibaki's alleged rigging, you need to, again, get you head out of the proverbial sand.

The general consensus is that whether Kibaki won or lost, the killings would have gone on, and even more likely on a larger scale.

The remedy to Kenya's problems lies in helping raise the overall standard of living - which the last government was doing very well - education, medicine, electricity, water - all relatively well distributed in the last three years. The folks who are killing each other (as you know, the so called leaders are not suffering as the poor are) are the ones who will almost always lose - most projects are at a standstill in the areas where violence has been incited - who suffers? We need to educate the masses in that we are the ones who suffer the most. Raila, Ruto, Balala, Kibaki, etc - they can afford to live above the fray, but you and I? We are the ones who have grown up together, gone to school together, and now are killing each other?!

Let us pray first, and then do some serious soul searching about what we really are passionate about, and maybe, God will continue to be kind to us and give us lasting peace.

The level of political immaturity displayed by Kenyan leaders as well as some participants on this blog is astounding. Kibaki's election as well as some voting irregularities in ODM strongholds leaves unanswered question that need to be adressed. The avenue taken to address these issues is what I describe as political immaturity. Wanton killing & destruction of property will resolve nothing. Any student of history will tell you that it's a fallacy to assume that if a Kikuyu is in power then all Kikuyus are prosperous. The same goes for a Kalejin in power etc...In fact, it can be argued that the Kikuyu suffer most by virtue of their population size - that is - you find more poverty, unemployment etc among the Kikuyu for this very reason...Wise up people individuals are using whole communities for their personal gain & whole communities are following blindly(singing slogans and such)like a bunch of idiots.

Nonsense! This is cheap propaganda and tribal jingoism. Kenyans are tired of the Mt kenya Mafia composed of old senile politico stalwarts drunk with power. This clique is only concerned with consolidating power at all costs. Mt Kenya communities need to rise up in solidarity with the rest of the Kenyan people and kick kibaki and his corrupt and tribal henchmen out of power. Kenya belongs to all of us. Period.

Hi,
Dear Kenyans, let think as kenyans and preach unity and not hatred amongst our people.I have read through this blog and the messanges are disturbing for anyone who praying and wishing that peace, love and unity will prevail in our country.Accusations and counter accusations of matters of the so called flawed elections hold no life waters and instead push the poorest of the poor common mwanachi to the extreems of the extreemiest periphery.

The two fighting bull should be left to fight alone without hurting the grass. The grass will need to grow failure even the bulls will die.

If the wild animals exist peacefully in the parks, why not we Kenyans.

Who said that Kenya will not go the Rwanda way? Right now the government of Kibaki has assembled all the Mugiki and is feeding them and supervising them to kill, burn and loot, reminiscent of the armed Rwandan extremists, the Interharramwe.Police are just standing by as these criminals persue victims hacking them to death, looting and burning them alive. Some of the Mungiki are now wearing GSU uniforms and are armed with guns. They block the highways and police are advising motorists to use alternative routes. The government had enough power to stop peaceful demonstrators and now they are unable to control these killers. Is the govermnent using the police to protect the Kikuyus only ? DO the other tribes matter in the eyes of Kibaki? If anyone thought peace will soon be realised then they have to think otherwise and if you are a Kenyan leaving abroad then you need to know that you are among the displaced Kenyans. You cant go back home even if you wanted to until the situation gets better...and who knows when?

for those of you who have posted comments on this topic and have had the privilege of living in other parts of the world especially in europe and the U.S. should be able to make wiser arguments about the political and social upheaval in kenya at the moment.for those who have lived/or live in the places mentioned above especially in the U.S you have experienced something that many people in this world never get to see.you have seen democracy at work, even when irregularities occur, they let the judicial system do what it is supposed to do.america rose to prominence not because they have the best armed forces or rich economically.they did this because people were ready to put their differences;it did not matter whether you are black, white, orange, blue all that matters is what you bring to the table.that is why come rain or sunshine,be it from terrorist attacks or any other issue that arises, the U.S.will always come out on top because its people are willing to stand together as one nation, you attack one american, you are attacking the entire nation.kenyans can learn from this patriotism shown by the americans.we have problems in kenya, i agree, but we can do something about it.we as the future leaders of kenya, can use this opportunity to get our voices heard and show the old guard that the time for change is upon us.we will no longer accept tribalistic tendencies to determine the future of kenya.we can all be proud of our heritage, whether you are luo, kalenjin, kikuyu etc,but when it comes to the nation of kenya,we are that:THE NATION OF KENYA,ONE PEOPLE,ONE FLAG, ONE GOAL:and then maybe all the dreams and aspirations that our founding fathers fought so hard for will come to fruition.we can not grow as a nation if we are not willing to put aside our differences,we cannot become the economic giant that we know we can be, if people are still going to use the crutch of tribalism as the reason they cannot move forward.life is not easy, and opportunities to succeed maybe few and far between, but if you work hard, learn from your peers and from your own mistakes and have some faith, the sky is the limit.our hope for the future is what drives us to strive for our goals now,so that the generations that after us will have a head start at leading a good life.BUT WHAT FUTURE AWAITS US AND THE GENERATIONS TO COME IF WE CANNOT COME TOGETHER AS A NATION OF ONE PEOPLE.SOLIDARITY,UNITY,PATRIOTISM AND PEACE ARE THE CORNERSTONES TO A PROSPEROUS NATION,A POINT PROVEN TO THE TEE BY THE ONLY REMAINING SUPERPOWER IN THE WORLD EVEN AS THE NAME ITSELF SAYS "THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"
THINK ABOUT IT MY FELLOW KENYANS,DO WE WANT TO STAND TOGETHER AS A NATION OR FACE THE SAME FATE AS OUR UNFORTUNATE NEIGHBOURS IN RWNADA,BURUNDI AND THE OTHER COUNTRIES IN AFRICA THAT ARE IN TURMOIL.

"Ladies and Gentlemen (Bigap Kutit),

I greet you all in the name of Koitalel arap Samoei, our great orkoiyot and Nandi warrior who was assassinated 100 years ago by the British colonialists.

There is no other time in our history that our unity is more important than today. There is no other time that the existence and livelihood of the Kalenjin people has been threatened, from the time of the colonialists, through the Kenyatta government to Moi's misrule than is today in the Kibaki administration. The spirit of our great warrior and leader has to be rekindled and passed to all our brothers and sisters across the Kalenjin land. We have to rise and defend our rights just like Koitalel led the resistance 100 years ago in resisting the British invasion. Let me elaborate how the Kibaki administration and the house of Mumbi has systematically marginalized the Kalenjin Community.

1. Land

The Kenyatta and Moi administration settled Kikuyu emigrants (occupiers) in the Rift Valley, our land. Our forefathers shed tears and blood for the purpose of preserving this heritage for their future off-springs (Kamatusa). The colonialists came and occupied our land after we fought them for a period of 7 years (The longest African resistance to a white man's rule). At independence, the dominant Kikuyu crafted a law in the constitution specifically for the benefit of their own people. That "Every Kenyan is free to own property in any part of the country". With this legal error in our history, their was an exodus of Kikuyus from Central Province to Rift Valley. The Kenyatta government gave them free "loans" to acquire huge chunks of our land without taking into account the interests of the original owners. This land was supposed to revert to the rightful ancestral owners (Kamatusa) at the time of independence. This did not happen. This marked the genesis of second occupiers to our land.

Moi was an accomplice in this injustice. He kept silent in the 60s and 70s as our people were robbed of what is rightfully theirs. He mortgaged our heritage for the sake of a seat that did not benefit us in any way. He perfected this game in 24 years that he has been in power. On ascending to the presidency, more land was still curved for many kikuyus in R. Valley.

The little crumbs that the Kalenjins were given by Moi in Mau, Likia, Mt. Elgon were taken back when Kibaki came to power. Kimunya called our title deeds PIECES (FAECES) OF PAPER. This is very painful indeed and this has stuck in our hearts and nothing can erase it for generations to come. Nothing can remove this unfortunate stain. We welcomed the OCCUPIERS in R. Valley; we lost so many forests during their reign; they allocated themselves so much productive land at the expense of our brothers and sisters; they insult us by calling us LUMBWA(dogs); they have killed our people; they evicted our people in Mau, Likia and other areas. Brethren, arise; this has to come to an end. Kotalel arap Samoei has been re-borned and we have to claim back what rightfully belongs to us; whether by FORCE or by DIPLOMACY. It has come to an EYE FOR AN EYE, A fist for a fist, a leg for a leg.

2. Education

At independence, the Kalenjins were systematically marginalized in terms of education. All the resources were channeled to Central province. They claim that we are only good in taking care of cows and goats. That is why they told Moi to go take care of goats as they show us how a country is run; and the idiot still went ahead to support them in last year's flawed elections. No tangible effort was done to build schools in R. Valley. 90% of School bursaries were reserved to Mt. Kenya region; and still happens till today. Many colleges and universities were constructed in Central and Nairobi region. Many Kikuyus were sent abroad for further learning. Some of the best national schools located in Central province were given adequate facilities while those of hostile regions like R. Valley were ignored. The best teachers were posted to schools in Mt. Kenya region. This continued consistently until Moi took over. Mr. Moi, having been a failure in school hated dealing with educated Kalenjins. He preferred to transact business with ex-prison warders and cattle auctioneers like Barngetuny. Our education continued to suffer during Moi's time because of poor policies.

This trend has been revived by the Kibaki administration. The secret is to ensure that we have so many school dropouts which will give rise to insecurity in our areas and investors shying away from such areas. Scrutinize government expenditure on education and bursaries, you will know where lots of money is heading to. This discrepancy has resulted in Mt. Kenya dominating everybody in this country in terms of education. Have you asked yourselves why we have very few professors, doctors, lecturers, dentists, teachers, etc? Apart from Kiptoon, most of the other kalenjin professors are political professors.

This has to stop. The only people who can stop the kikuyu dominance in this country are the kalenjins. We cannot allow ourselves to be trampled upon like other tribes. We must stand up and play the leadership role in liberating our country from the jaws of the kikuyus.

3. Employment

Do you need any explanations on this? Name all the parastatals and name the senior employees in those organizations. The names revolve around Mt. Kenya region. How many kalenjins has the Kibaki government sacked? un-countable. How many has it refused to employ, including Dr. Rotich in KACA? Un-countable. If we are all equal in this country why is it that it is only people from one region that get recruited in this country? Are we lesser kenyans? We cannot allow ourselves to be subjugated in this manner. We belong here and the earlier these kikuyus realize we are serious in our quest by all means, the better. This five years will see them bringing in chiefs and sub-chiefs from the mount Kenya region to lord on us at our village levels; the only remaining government jobs that they have not filled with Mt. Kenya characters. Devolution was to take resources to our regions rather than centralize it in Nairobi . This would have helped our regions to develop and get our brothers and sisters get employed. What did they do? They told their people that majimbo means you relocate to your ancestral home. This was never in our ODM's campaign agenda. We wanted to share resources fairly. They poisoned their people's minds and now they want to accuse Raila and Rutto of preaching Majimbo of evicting people. That was their interpretation and that is what they told people. They are paying for their own sins.

We advocate for fair employment to all. The Kalenjins have to get their share if peace must prevail in this country.

4. Commerce/Trade

Talk of NSE, talk of government supplies, talk of small shops, talk of big shops; they all belong to Kikuyus. Whether in R. Valley, Nyanza, Coast or Kakuma, they are all owned by Kikuyus. Talk of Equity bank, how many kikuyus are being given loans on a daily basis? Equity bought IDB and the government has been channeling loans to their kikuyu brethren without any rigorous procedures. Kwani what is so special with this breed of people for them to own so much? They have greed and arrogance of catastrophic proportions. Again, devolution would have leveled the playing ground of trade. Channeling the resources to regions would have ignited business activities at the regional level. What did they do? They stole our votes and decided to maintain the status quo. Imagine what they will do in the next five years if you consider this will be their last term. They have bought most of the government assets through NSE. Brethren, how many millionaires can you identify in R. Valley? How many are there in Central and Mt. Kenya region? Is it by accident that we have less than 10 and they have over 1000? Can't you see? Open your godamn eyes!!! We do not have a future if we don't rise up now. They are going to buy all that was not bought previously. Their properties have to be brought down for them to see sense. It is the only language they can understand. No more talks.

5. Infrastructure

Look at the roads, telecommunication, electricity, water; name them; all the resources for in this sector have been channeled to Mt. Kenya region. From Kipipiri to North Imenti to Mwea to Embu; these guys have built highways, supplied water to their people, supplied electricity, telephone lines, dug boreholes, etc. The allocation in the national budget is heavily skewed towards their regions. This is all about resources. Moi was extremely ignorant and useless. He stole from us and did deals with these guys. He enriched himself so much; he is always ready to sacrifice his own people for his own benefits. Back to Mt. Kenya paradise; what you guys need to understand is that all this is about resource distribution. If these guys were able to do what they did in 5 years, what will they not do in the next 5 years. They are equipping their region as they steal from us. That is why they cannot listen to resource devolution.

Do you need any further education? Of course not. The list of inequalities is so long and you must be having one of your own. As if this was not enough, they stole our votes and asked us to do what we think we can do. That is right guys, "Do what you think you can do if you are man enough". We have done what we were challenged to do since we are not small boys and girls. We shall still do what we think we can do as long as we are claiming for what is ours. If any of us (gotab kalenjin), God forbid, betrays our course we shall not only eliminate him/her, but their entire linage. We shall also invoke our kalenjin CURSE in ensuring that the individual and all their generation shall not live.

We started by identifying our fighting spirit with the spirit of Koitalel ara Samoei (God rest his soul in eternal peace). This spirit still lives today. This spirit is about the kalenjin's spirit of NEVER SAY DIE even in times of adversity. Our God will deliver us to Canaan from the current mistreatment. We shall not lose focus of where we are going and what we want. We shall not allow ourselves to be among the meek and the submissive in this country because Kibaki says so. We shall say what we want to say and do what we want to do.

It is 100 years since the great warrior and leader of the Kalenjin died. He left a mark in the history of this country and the rest of the world: "The longest African Resistance to a White Man's Rule". That should always be our rallying MOTTO as a people. The man will always be our hero and source of inspiration. If Koitalel could resist the inventor of the GUN for 7 years, how can we succumb to MISUSERS of the GUN when we have also gotten access to them? Let our spirit not die brothers and sisters. A century after our great Orkoiyot died, another great Kalenjin son has been born unto us. Coincidentally, he is called by the same name of the great leader: SAMOEI. This great son of ours belong to the age group of KAPLELACH. Our fore fathers predicted that during this age group, the world will either SURVIVE or PERISH. This prophecy has to come to pass. It is this age group that will deliver our people from the jaws of the PYTHON (KIBAKI). I call upon all of us to remain steadfast in giving him total support. Their strength in parliament yesterday shows what determination and unity can achieve.

We have been receiving threatening messages via sms from our brothers and sisters the kikuyus. They are interested in looking for us and our off-springs in Nairobi for elimination. These people cannot steal from us our democratic right and threaten violence upon us. It would amount to double tragedy. We SHALL NOT allow this to happen and the earlier they get to know it the better. Nairobi City is in Rift Valley; the name Nairobi in itself is Maasai (who are our cousins) and it means a place with water. We will never succumb to their threats. We shall defend ourselves and our interests to the bitter end. If they want to bring clashes to Nairobi , they can go ahead. They will regret why they ever started it in the first place. We urge our people to ensure that every family is fully equipped with our normal tools; if we can afford, ferry two warriors from upcountry fully armed and house them until we have this thing sorted out. It is imperative that we fully deal with the house of Mumbi. NAIROBI WILL EITHER BELONG TO ALL OF US OR NONE OF US. The house of MUMBI should realize that this country is not ruled through threats but by engaging the other partners. We did not start this war, they started it and the ONLY WAY TO END IT IS TO HAVE THE THIEF (KIBAKI) TALK TO RAILA THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL. GOTAB KALENJIN."

This document is chilling and it shows how many people enjoy brutality if not shedding innocent people's blood. People need to read "Colossians 3:13.....Brethren,be gentle, learn to love, dont hold grudges, just as christ forgave you, you ought to learn to forgive others."

The simple fact is that William Ruto is no gentlemen as some of you state in your blogs. He is a murderer, and a blood thirsty beast who will soon meet his plight. He has overseen so many precious and innocent lives wasted because of greed. May misfortunes befall him and his family for generations to come.

I dont agree with that.I am not a luo or akikiyu or a kalenjin either.I see the problem comes from kibaki who refused to concede defeat that is one.If Moi did not allow to handover power the same thing would have happened in 2002.The other guys who should be blamed for the mess are Mr.Kivuitu and Kalonzo musyoka who cheated kenyans that he is on his own towards the election just to take advantage of the mess. Why did'nt he side with kibaki from the word-GO?we would have had an OUT-RIGHT WINNER with no blood to be shed...kenyans wake up to your senses.

Kalenjins have a huge problem in rift valley, and their tribal chauvinism is a danger to all kenyans. They think killing and threatening others will make them achieve their goals. The fact is that other tribes own less than 10% of rift valley land and Kalenjins own 90%. What will they do with 10% even if they were given free. Nothing. Address your ignorance people!

Wananchi...be it a Kalenjin, Kikuyu, Luo or Luhya...Please can all of us sit down for a minute and think this thru? I know we are all hurting right now but can we think about our country when all this is done and said... where will our children go or how will they live if we do not peace this together...Jameni, this talks of we are better than them and vise versa is sickening. We are all God's children and only God should have the power to create and end life...Anyone who take the gift of life for granted be it for politics or hate reasons is wrong. I am caught up in the middle of all this with my father being a Kale my mom a Kiuk, my step mother a Luo and my husband is a Luhya- Do you see my pain? If you ask me being affiliated to the three tribes I can tell you with certainty that none of them is better than the other...we are all God's people and we should not let our tribal affiliations be the determinant of whether someone live or dies. Life and death are beyoung us, please don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I am challenging all fellow Kenyans to stop this hateful propagada and let's get back to the basics; let's get back to what really matters namely the wellbeing of our country, our brothers and sisters. Let's not demonize each other-instead please try praying for one another.

Love to all my Kenyan brothers and sisters!

Love all kenyans

I agree we should get to the basic and stop demonizing each other. I tell you for free, we have all lived and worked with fellow Kenyans irrespective of tribe. I went to the university with Luos, Kalenjins, Kambas etc. I still have those great friends who have made a mark in my life. But trust me on this; Kenya will never be the same again. The harmony and brotherhood are historical sentiments and facts that will be carried by us to our future children. We will be talking of one Kenya that once was the envy of other African states and foreign countries alike.
I don’t want to sound a pessimist, but look around you and tell me about the kind of a conversations you are having with people of other tribes different from yours. You are either trying to justify why a certain tribe did what they did or just trying to console each other on what is happening. The conversation is based on who you are talking to. This is not going to stop and tribal healing is different from individual healing.
I am an educated man to Kenyan and to some extent international standards; I am in my final stages of a doctoral program. But trust me, I have never felt the need to be a Kikuyu. I taught people of different races here in the United State and at no one moment did I think that I am kikuyu or they are whatever race. Infact I dated a Hispanic woman, an American and and Asia woman, race never was an issue in my life. After visiting Kenya in the last one month and seeing the odium to the Kikuyus I have all the reasons to defend my heritage and my tribe which happens to be a kikuyu heritage. I don't see myself as a kenyan anymore but a kikuyu who is hated for being enterprising and nothing more. If someone hates me for who I am I have all the reasons and audacity to love myself. I am sure there are people from other tribes that feel the same way that I do and that is why Kenya will not be the same again.
I am lucky to have know Kenya for 35yrs where peace was the driving force. The Rutos, Railas and to some extent Kibakis have earned themselves a place in the history books for reasons you all know. We had koitalel arap samoei, Nabongo mumia, Kamau Hinga, Chief Karuri Gakure, and many more heroes who we all agree shaped the destiny of Kenya as we knew it one month ago. United, peace loving country where citizen could own property in every corner of the land. Ruto if proofed will go into history book as one man who orchestrated genocide against Kikuyus. I don't know if he was involved but reading the above report and listening to what is coming from Kenya I doubt his non-involvement. Besides, in every rumor there is some truth. After Ruto won the Eldoret North seat, he told his people he is going to Nairobi to swear in Raila as the president and when he returns he doesn’t want to find Madoa doa meaning the Kikuyus, checkout with with kassfm for the clip. That remark makes me nervous in trying to defend him for lack of proof in some allegations made against him. I as a Kikuyu think what is happening is better than it would have been had Raila won, I hear people were even planning to take over other peoples home in central Kenya. There was even a plan to kill people in Gatundu to avenge for what Kenyatta did in Kisumu when he was the president.
For Kibaki, he has succeeded in alienating the Kikuyus against other Kenyans either by design or by default. Time as always will be a better judge.
