William Ruto Responsible for Kenyan Violence: Odinga and Kibaki Must Take Action

We respect the seriousness of the events going on in Kenya and encourage a productive and enlightening dialogue.

This is a statement from People Foundation, Inc, California. Over the last couple of days, we have seen Hon. Raila Odinga come to terms with the escalating loss of human lives in our country, and has consistently softened his stand towards a peaceful resolution to the current crisis. One thing that has aroused our curiosity is the posture that William Ruto has taken in the whole reconciliation process. We got concerned and embarked on a quick investigative research to unearth what is driving Ruto not to explore peaceful resolution to the social-political crisis going on in our country.

Let the truth be known that William Ruto is the man sponsoring the genocide operations going in Rift Valley through the Karamajong Guerilla Fighters, a militia with operations similar to the old known militia "the Shiftas" that fought Moi in the 1980s. Reliable sources indicate that Karamojong Guerrilla Fighters arrived in city of Eldoret where they mercilessly massacred hundreds of innocent people including women and children.

Recently Ruto was reported to be out of Nairobi, and could not attend the meeting between Raila and Kalonzo. We have established that Ruto was in Eldoret meeting with the Karamojong Guerilla Fighters. Ruto knew that the only way ODM could have access to adequate firepower (KEG) was to engage the Karamojong Guerilla Fighter who are obviously known to possess insurmountable quantities of AK-47, Automatic Rifles and other sophisticated small arms. It is important to highlight the fact that Karamojong communities are cousins with the Luos, and therefore, it is the same militia that is killing people in Nyanza.

It is therefore imperative for the government of the day to take decisive and conclusive action against William Ruto, and the perpetrators of genocide. We cannot afford to see one more live lost. We are also asking Hon Raila Odinga to disassociate himself with William Ruto and speak for peace and return of the nation to normalcy. Who knows whether the judicial process could over turn the ECK decision, and see a re-run of the presidential elections?

Karamoja, the nomadic pastoralists of Northern Uganda and Kenya have traditionally raided each other's livestock, an activity that flows naturally from their cultural frameworks for life. During the raiding season, the raid is typically followed counter-raid with considerable loss of life. Ever since they became neighbors, raiding has gone on intermittently, not only between Karamojong and Pokot, but also between them and Jie, Dodoso, Turkana, Samburu, Marakwet, Sapiny ot Sabawot, and Bukusu.

Before 1970s, Karamoja was peaceful, pastoral and traditional, but the years according to Mirzeler & Young (2000) ushered in the new era of guns. The proliferation of automatic rifles (Leggett, 2000) has unequivocally infected the Karamojong culture with ills of modern AK-47 raids, which currently pose the single greatest risk to the security of the northern region. Mirzeler & Young (2000) write that there are over 40,000 AK-47 in Karamojong community, while Gray (2000) estimates that there are over 100,000 automatic rifles in Karamoja. Firearms are not novelties for the Karamojong, they have enculturated them with very little fuss, just like other Iron implements, all of which are acquired from foreigners. The Karamojongs have possessed firearms since 1870 when the colonial government licensed some, and there have always been at least a few illicit firearms.

The community started acquiring sophisticated guns in large quantities in the 1970s following the routing of President Idi Amin's army in Uganda by an alliance of Tanzanian People's Defense Force and Uganda exiles (Mburu, 2000). One known major source was the Moroto barracks which the fleeing Ugandan dictator abandoned intact thus allowing the Karamojong to help themselves to unlimited quantities of rifles, small arms and ammunitions.

William Ruto, knowing very well that in the context of the Turkana and Karamojong people that the current governments in Kenya and Uganda are part of the insecurity problem, has incited the Karamojongs and other communities to violence, and secretly engaged the Karamojong Guerilla Fighters to inflict fear and suffering among the people in protest of the outcome of the just concluded general elections. To this end, Ruto should be apprehended as an underworld warlord who incites ethnic communities to arm and commit genocide like what recently happened in the church campus in Eldoret.

For those who think the government should not act decisively and conclusively with William Ruto should read (Romans 13:4) .. for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.

i think standard newspaper is partial and shld be taught about responsible jornalism otherwise it is going to spark ciaos among kenyan pple. Its always biased in the way of reporting the news in favor of raila.he must be having shares with the standard or someting.he probably mkes the rough draft of those articles because they are always far fetched and away from the truth.todays article had stated that they had the 411 from someone in the mediation team that said.... "We want those in camps to be given alternative resettlement," said a source privy to the goings-on at the talks.....now tell me cld this source be ruto or raila ..we want to know.and who tld them we want to be resettled elsewhere when we have our homes that have been torched and destroyed.we want peace so that we can go back to our rightful land in riftvalley.

the blogger bii sounds like a very disturbed fellow and sounds like he needs help.

The future of the country lies in resolving the fundamental cause of the present problems... but one thought disturbs me - Do we have too many overly ambitious young people in positions of influence who lack in greatness and passion for every Kenyan (as people and not as a currency). These individuals would rather see their positions as a stepping stone to personal glory.

The absence of concern for the blood shed is very disturbing.

To part with power as did former President Moi amidst the mockery he received in Uhuru park is to be respected..because we continue to show that we would not be able to do the same....

Thank God we had the leaders we had when Kenya got independence.

And for Bii,l agree with you but l wish you soften just a little bit. But as for Margaret, the devil's agent, she deserves hell why lie.

l gotta be straight up here with the people still insisting a rerun. That is nonesense and it would be justification for a major civil war. These are the facts right now.Kibaki will win the election with a landside. Reasons, all the votes he got in the last election, kambas votes, some rich westerners who were enjoying the booming economy and some well wishers just because of the free primary and secondary educations. However, it is not practical to vote right now because of the half million people who have been displaced. So dont lie to yourself and think that there wont be another re-election ;we have to fix the present situation that has been aggravated by the Kales. The guy who just claimed that we dont know how Kales would have reacted, please, did you know Hon. Ruto was the proposed minister for Land and Settlement, emphasis on settlement, in the outlined ODM govt. Kenyans,as much as we want peace and harmony, we should never gamble with our humanity. Who ever thought that Kenya, the headquartes of United Nations in Africa, would ever have a humanitarian crisis. am telling you guys the pride that we have always had for our country is hanging by the string now.Lets pray for Kenya and stop all these incitements.

It would be a very wise and somewhat ideal for Military Chief to take over the government, install sanity in politics by sending KIBAKI government home.Call for a fresh election in 6-12 monthns as we go back to civilian rule.Unfortunately most of them are cowards and only around to kiss KIBAKI's a...ss!

Nice to know we have very bright, educated Kenyans and just wish you can direct all that to meaningful things. Let's face it. Can you tell me one election in the last few years that did not end up with rigging claims: Nigeria, Georgia, US (twice) etc? Rigging is part of the democratic process. No wonder both ODM and PNU tried so hard to rig. At the end of the day, there will be only one president. And that is - the one whose rigging tactics are shrewd enough.

God Bless Kenya!
Governments are not wired in our DNA so it will take time to understand them.

For 2 long we have thot ourselves as 1. our tribe 2.our status and last 3.as kenyans, we have lost pride, joy and a stong sense of unity as a people. We have had peace for so long we forget that "in the absence of peace WAR rules".We who should be kenyans first and last have become Blind & Deaf from the lessons all around us,We have all our neigbours (Somali to the east,Ethipia to the North,Sudan to the N.West,Uganda to the West,Ruanda to the S.West even Tanzania to the south)Where War and type of rule have left them either diverstated or poor. The current troubles in Kenya are not from only our leaders {who have contributed the least} but it stems from every Kenyan,Yes Every Kenyan is responsible to what is happening. How you may ask ?,by every statement we have made(in seriousness or by jokes)that have undermined another tribe,By our actions and/or inaction in defence or offence to one in another tribe, in allowing ourselves,Our selves to be swayed by any other (be he leader,boss,lover,husband/wife or commoner)to act/not act againest/defend other tribe. We r at crossroads & while kenya will never be the same we can learn from this crisis and grow stronger by it or we can destroy our selves as a nation,We could be the next rwand or sudan or somalia anyday now or we can be kenya, the pride of Africa.i will not ask u to stop or name calling its is ur choice which only u can choose but i will ask you to look up and meditate on OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM.
P.S I hope it will move u to tears as it did me and give u pride in our counrty, our MOTHERLAND ,The land our ancestors, Grandparent, Parents & Siblings foght so hard so future generatons would live in peace and hormony

i am a kenyan first and last
GOD BLESS OUR LAND AND NATION

Sombody said Kikuyus are arrogant. That's not true they may look arogant because they were driven away from rift valley without revenging I thank God their eyes were open last month. It's their time to revenge. They were not arrongant before but now they should be. The other thing if Ruto and Raila were genuine how comes now they're pleading with GK to end the violence. Simply because their people are been killed.
Kikuyus you need to shine shine it's your time brothers, you have liberty to live anywhere in Kenya. Kenyatta said "this land is yours and nobody can tunya U!!!!!!" Rift vally is yours and nobody can tunya UUU.NEVER SLEEP AGAIN KIKUYU I LOVE YOU KIUKUS NA KAZI IENDELEEEEEE..........

We need sober reasoning before we say what we are saying on this site. Some of of you are shouting alot, pointing fingers on other communities, and name-calling coz you haven't gone down to the bottom of the violence. I will appreciate and listen to you shouters if you told me that you lost a mother, father, brother, sister, child or spouse in the violence. None of your loved ones is spending nights in IDPCs. Wait until you have atleast one grave because of the violence infront of your house, then you will qualify to shout. Bloodshade is not the way to go now. All of us need to invoke our moral senses, preach peace and then seek justice. I am not cursing you, but I pray that all of you who are posting rediculous, mockery and absurd comments should have atleast of of your family members killed then I will enjoy reading your posting the next day. May God hasten thee killing of your family memberr.

One stupid thing about Kenyans and other Africans in debating their problems is to QUICKLY RUN to the TRIBAL tone(s).

Kikuyus think like Kikuyus, Luos like wise and all other tribes. With this kind of mind set, we will continue to have civil wars, some worse than what we witnessed in Kenya recently.

To solve our problems we need to look critically at the origins of these problems. It is only then that we may learn how to SOLVE them. Did I read recently before elections that the Kikuyus were asking Kibaki to nominate Uhuru Kenyatta as his running mate?! What signal does a gesture like that send to non-Kikuyus?!?! Did somebody from the Kikuyu tribe counter that stance?

Are we sometimes the creators of our own troubles?! Just think for a moment. The Kalenjins are being bought out of Rift Valley by Kikuyus and Kisiis. Where will the young Kalenjins being born today live when they need land on which to settle??

Did I hear that distribution of wealth was NOT equitable since the days of Kenyatta! How do you expect other Kenyans to feed, educate and cloth their families? A POOR man has only his life to lose. A rich person has his/her wealth to consider as well. All humans (tribes, race, ethnic group etc.) have some amount of ego to cater to. I wonder how happy the Kikuyus could have been if they fought for uhuru and missed to rule Kenya for the last 40 years. Most probably they could have gone back to the forest to try another war of liberation! STOP kidding yourselves give every Kenyan a chance to ascend to the top job in the land, as long as the people have decided.

Ruto may only have made sure that the likes of Mungiki were not going to terrorize the Kalenjins,

I appeal to the government of Kenya to investigate the killings and other unlawly acts which have been going on since the election were announced.Rift Valley has have been the focus of attention with a local politician's name attracting interest. The lives of innocent people [not even sparing children]should not be forgotten for the sake of a few politicians who have opted primitive ways of expressing dissatisfaction to election results.Elections held before had problems and its sad to see how the last held was an exception.Did some people overstreach democratic rights enjoyed in the last five years to fuel violence? What is this violence all about after over twenty years in the hands of dictatorship? Families who have lived in some parts of Rift Valley all their lives have been displaced, others killed ,houses burned whereas in some areas some people laying stake at property which they don't even have a clue how much it took the owner to acquire. All who live in these areas A acquired the land just like any other Kenyan who can own property anywhere in the coutry as long as there is a willing seller and buyer. It takes the willingness of the two.In our case we have a seller who sits down lazily and enjoys the proceeds of sale not even thinking of investing some of it while the buyer developes the land, only after the the money is gone does the seller come back[incited by some politicians] and torches the property and thereby displacing the buyer. The govrn.should act.

WAIT A MINUTE MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN, AM READING ALL THIS BLAMESHIFTING ABOUT WHO IS BAD AND WHO STARTED THE VIOLENCE BUT NO BLOGGER HAS HIT THE HOMERUN YET.HON. RUTO IS NOT TO BLAME FOR ALL THIS VIOLENCE. THE PERSON WHO IS SUPPOSED TO BLAMED IS NONE OTHER THAN THE SON FROM THE LAKE, MR. AGWAMBO.CHECK THIS,REMEMBER WHEN MOI WAS PRESIDENT,ALL THE MANIFESTOS HE SIGNED BEFORE THE ELECTION, NONE OF THEM HAD MAJIMBO IN THEM.WHY BECAUSE AS MUCH AS YOU ALL WOULD LIKE TO HATE KALES, MOI WAS ONE OF THE BRILLIANT ONES. YOU KNOW WHAT, EVEN BRILLIANT THAN AGWAMBO AND RUTO WITH THEIR BRAINS TOGETHER. KENYANS OR AFRICANS IN GENERAL ARE TO IMMATURE,SELF CENTERED,LAZY WANT TO HAVE IT ALL,FULL OF MALICE,IDDLERS, AND THEREFORE WILL NEVER OR THEY ARE NOT YET READY TO HANDLE DIVISIVE POLITICS YET.SO WHEN AGWAMBO FOOLISHLY INCLUDED MAJIMBO IN HIS STUPID MANIFESTO. HE POISONED THE MINDS OF ALL KENYANS. THEREFORE, PEOPLE NOW STARTED BLAMING THEIR POVERTY ON PARTICULAR TRIBES OR PEOPLE HENCE THE CLASHES ERRUPTED. AM TELLING YOU, I WILL WRITE A HISTORICAL BOOK WITH THE TITLE......AGWAMBO THE KENYAN VILLAIN.....BECAUSE THIS IS CLEAR; HE IS THE PERSON WHO ALMOST STARTED CIVIL WAR IN KENYA.KENYA A COUNTRY THAT WAS, ONCE UPON A TIME, THE AFRICAN JEWEL, THE AFRICAN PRIDE. AM TELLING YOU MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN THAT HARD EARNED GLORY WILL NEVER BE BESTOWED TO OUR COUNTRY EVER AGAIN .AM NOT A PESSIMIST BUT A REALIST.

its very unfortunate that kenyans still don understand,i mean, they just don get it. how long are we going to keep ganging ourselves along tribal lines? the bottom line is that we all have to be realistic and address issues that divide as. its quite disturbing to see how people can be that much unreasonable. How can one explain the senseless killing of a certain ethnic group in eldoret without associating it with jack ASS Ruto. this fool, supposedly a law-maker makes no attempt to even console his constituents. based on this to say the least, how could any sober kenyan distance jack ass Ruto over this atrocities. We dont need this kind of leaders in kenya. Can someone remind Ruto that leaders come and go and that he might be gone sooner than he'd ever had imagined.

Is Kenya a country made of parking boys?. The pctures in the internet show leaders like Anyang Nyong, Atwoli, Ruto, Odinga, Kibaki as battered shabby men who are no diffrent from the angry violent machete welding youth burning houses and looting. How many years do they wear shirts and jackets/coats?. Kenyans need a change. It should start by everybody changing buying new cloths.

Raila has made history as Kenya's no.1 villain.

Kenya's:

1. First person to try the first and hopefully the last coup attempt in Kenya.

2. The first person to make Kenya almost go into a civil war.

3. The first person to cause the first Genocide in Kenya

It doesn't get any bad ass than that. Only Hitler was worse.

This guy has many lives. But Raila take it from me, I don't think you will ever be Kenya's president, I would have almost voted for you, but now, I don't think you have my best interest at heart. I can't trust you anymore. You are no longer any better than Kibaki and his crew.
Ruto has never had any place in ODM, Raila you should have damped him when you had the chance, now he has really ruined your name.

I'm glad we have some Kikuyus with brain, unlike retarded "Maasai-Kikuyu" on this blog.

By Ken S Muriithi
The debilitating anger consuming the country is due to a build-up of emotions over time.
In 1963 Jaramogi Oginga Odinga stepped back to allow Jomo Kenyatta to become founding president. But a certain community took it as their right to dominate leadership.
Kenyatta dished out massive tracks of fertile land, to select people or ‘politically-correct’ politicians, especially from Central Province in the Rift Valley.
The rest of Kenyans felt being pushed aside.
In 1969 Tom Mboya was assassinated. Right-thinking Kenyans perceived this as a sign that no one should dare to compete for leadership.
A promising leader was lost. People perceived this as another plan to sideline western Kenya.
In 1974, JM Kariuki was assassinated and the Government responded with repercussions if any one dared to blame it. His vision had given hope to the middle class and the poor of the possibility of a better Kenya. Again this chance ended with his death.
The brutal way he was killed again reflected the dictatorial and absolute style of the regime. The country had been taken back once more.
In 1982 the one party regime was introduced. Wananchi felt oppressed and unhappy, many were detained, without trial.
Again freedom of speech, thought as and human rights were denied.
In 1991 Dr Robert Ouko was assassinated. He was a respected and honest leader. There were massive protests. Once again western Kenya felt neglected.
In 1992 and 1997 General Elections were rigged and the population felt deprived of their democratic rights.
Interference of the Government into Judicial matters was the order of the day.
The nation was divided along tribal lines. There were tribal clashes, treated as "events" which have not been addressed.
In 2002, Mwai Kibaki was elected, marking the end of the Moi era. It was Raila Odinga’s campaign and declaration of ‘Kibaki Tosha!’ that did it for the then Democratic Party leader who had ran for the presidency twice (1992 and 1997) and lost. There was hope of Kenya being a successful country, with a new democratic outlook.
After Kibaki assumed power, he changed tact and scandals started rocking his Government — dismissing the MoU, brushing over Goldenberg, Anglo Leasing, poor performance of Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission and Artur scam and the raid on the Standard Group premises.
There was no new constitution despite the promise. There was and there is tribal dominance in most public offices, especially the Finance, Security and Provincial Administration ministries.
Under Kibaki the average and below average Kenyan has suffered more than ever with little hope for a better future.
The massive rigging machine, which had been put in place long before the elections, and the subsequent rigging then made people snap with anger. It was the spark next to the dynamite keg. People remember the misgivings over these past 44 years, during which governance has been most wanting, having deprived millions of Kenyans over the years. It is therefore human to respond with anger.
Therefore, the main responsibilities lie with governments whose main objectives have been to rule and stay in power at any cost, rather than serving the citizenry. Equally guilty are the recent poll violators and executors of the rigging.
The election troubles are not a Raila-Kibaki affair it is the injustice done to voters. There must be justice so there can be peace.
Once in power some presidents will do anything to stay in power even if that means having a few hundred of people killed, often for the reason of avoiding being exposed. Their arrogance makes them to think that God come after them. They are a gift to their country and the world at large. If this is not corrected we will always remain at the bottom of the pith.

THE SAME CAN BE CLAIMED FOR RWANDA,BURUNDI,CHAD SUDAN,SOMALIA,TANZANIA,ETHIOPIA AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.GIVE ME ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN AFRICA, HOWEVER RICH IT MAYBE, THAT OTHER COUNTRIES HAS SO MUCH DEPENDENCE ON. MY POINT IS, I KNOW DEMOCRACY IS VERY EXPENSIVE BUT THE DAMAGE THAT HAS BEEN DONE ALREADY IS ENOUGH TO SEND THE MESSAGE.SO THIS IS THAT HIGH TIME THAT WE ALL SHOULD SET AN EXAMPLE. LETS ALL STOP TEARING EACH OTHER APART. LETS WAIT AND SEE THE MEDIATION PROCESS HEAL THE DAMAGE THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THE COUNTRY AND ITS NATIVES.I AM POSITIVE, WHATEVER THE DEICISION WILL BE, IT WILL BE WELCOMED BY ALL COMMUNITIES IN KENYA.IT IS CLEAR, WE ALL LOVE KENYA, OTHERWISE WE WOULD NT WASTE OUR TIME IN THIS BLOG. SO LETS BE A ROLE MODEL FOR EVERYONE IN KENYA AND OTHER KENYANS ABROAD.

Kikuyu's deserved the first right to rule Kenya, after all they were the most affected, most tortured and had spent many years fighting the British.
However, today. I believe its not about which tribe deserves to rule, but what leader is best for Kenya. A leader who has the best interest
of Kenya at heart. We don't need a leader be it Kikuyu, Luo, Kalenjin or any other tribe, who's only intention is to develop he's on tribe and people. We need a leader who is concerned with Kenya as a whole.
I am a young Kikuyu in my early twenties who has had the benefit of growing up in Nairobi and interacting with people from almost all tribes of Kenya. I grew up with Kales, Luo, Luyha, Kamba, Taita, Mijikenda, Somali, Nubians and even Ethiopians. My best friend is a luo and I have dated a Kamba, a Taita, and a Luyha. Right now, I am still friends with a kale friend of mine who supported Ruto. Its his democratic light. We hard political arguments with friends of mine back in campus who supported other candidates. But then we later shared a cup of coffee confiding in each other our most personal problems. Is that not how democracy works?
I have lived with roommates from other communities, I appreciated them teaching me how to cook their popular foods, I showed them ours. We teased each other about tribe stereo types, as been taught by our parents. But we knew where to stop. Yet that never seemed right to me.We were and we are still very close with my friends from luo, kalenjin or luyha communtiies, regardless of whom they supported.

My father grew up in a Nairobi slum, and my mum came from a poor Family in Murang'a. We have never known any one from Kenyatta family or any other ruling class family, we have never benefited from the corruption of the government in all three regimes that have ruled Kenya.

My Father worked extremely hard in school, got a scholarship abroad and went on to become a business proprietor from saved money from his Salary after years of working. My Mother also went on to get a degree courtesy of My father. They were successful in the their business, not because they knew someone in govt, or because of any special treatment given to them for being Kikuyu's. They worked extremely hard both of them. My Family doesn't have any land in central province. But my parents have worked hard their entire lives to become successful. It would be extremely hurtful for anyone to take our land and burn down the property that my parents have worked so had and spent all their lives building because we are Kikuyus.

And one thing that both my parents have been preaching to me throughout this whole crisis, is to forgive them, forgive them all, for they don't know what they are doing. They told me not to hate them because it is an unnecessary baggage to carry, it will divert your focus from more important issues. And besides the more we love them and wish them well, the more our God will continue to bless us.

Many Kikuyu's like me we are very hurt by the way our people were mistreated, but we are not bitter anymore, because we know whom we trust in. We trust in the Lord God almighty. Who's name is above all other names. He is the God of Justice. And we have full confidence him.We have faith in God. The power of prayer is more powerful than any sword, or machete.

William Ruto is the one who is killing the Kenyans. If you believe otherwise, then you are insane.

Anonymous said...

William Ruto masterminded, planned and excuted the mass killings of the kikuyus in the Rift Valley.

If the opposition had attained power it would have been another Rwanda.

Don't buy the nonsense that it was spontaneous reactions to President Kibaki's win, pure rubbish.

Ruto has no business negotiating the future of our country. He needs to be kicked of the panel of leaders, it is a mockery of the dead to have him there taking peace. He needs to be in jail sooner than later

To sign petition to have him and his cronies tried for crimes against humanity go to the website below and sign petition. kenyans need justice now!

The only person who needs to be kicked out of the talks is a crazy, bitchy ass witch by the name of martha Karua. She is an absolute disgrace to the country, women and herself due to the her smelly mouth and diplomatic garbage that keeps blurbing out everytime she talks. Why would she support shun international negotiators who have ended up saving our country from the jaws of a tear up?As for all that Ruto crap, why don't some of you kikuyu guys tell other Kenyans how Michuki so drads the media, the only thing he can think about is rattling it?Wasn't he in power when cops killed innocent civilians?did Ruto order anyone to kill Juat as MIchuki did?Well now you know who is responsible. He must be fired, arrested and locked up in Deathrow.

Our editor is ignorant. How could one prove that. I can basically guess which tribe is he or she from?Let us not add politics with tribal classes to be sincere. He/she is mistaken.

how does one anonymous say that Martha Karua is a disgrace to our kenyan society for i know is that she's helped alot by not standing to the tribalism crap that is going on same goes to the brave and tough Michuki speaks out please don't be judgemental of kikuyu's that is being a tribalist if there wasn't people like Martha and Michuki we wouldn't have come this far only those think of themselves are letting our kenyan people down because some don't really know the meaning of the motto love, peace and unity.Saying that Michuki should be locked up won't solve crisis in Kenya it only worsens it.STOP BEING TRIBALISTS.

.....This is just nothing but some cheap tribal politika!! The site is pure Kikuyu-based, we need no thinking to figure it out. Kabaki and his regime messed it up; and the Central inhabitants paying the fine. Actually, most of them are now taking the "second thought".....they would have lived peacefully in their "acquired" lands in Rift Valley had Dictator Kibaki not rigged the elections. Oh, a few weeks ago, Kibaki's own son adviced him to step down because of all the mess, but, Lucy Kibaki shot him!!! Jimmy Kibaki knows well that his daddy is not being fair to the Kenyans. So, chicken-head, before you go ahead and blame Rutto for sh1t he didn't do, think MAJIMBO first. I hope you get the hint, and hey, don't choose the kenyan flag to represent your scandalus, audience-seeking nonsense. Grow up and work on your AIRLIFTED DEGREE!!!!

So much about Ruto, the UN human rights body is on the ground investigating - some of the the perpetrators of the violence and killings are already smutting from the travel ban "surprise" from US, CANADA and in very short time UK.Has anybody noticed the diplomatic view change after these diplomats visited the violence-hit areas,it's been amazing to see the almost complete about-turn in their contention almost overnight - could be they are also readind from the UN investigators' script - the only diplomat yet to come to terms with raelity is the Dutch(Netherlands). The government is not going to do the investigation alone, the prosecutions will also be done by the international tribunal - my country folk read news, don't just open your mouths to belittle others.Have some integrity, Kenyans or the next stop is gonna be the Somalia or Sierra Leonean style!!!!!

You are in California and are making such crappy statements, dude... com back to life. Situation on the ground is totally different. You know what, KEEP YOUR DIFFERENCES WITH RUTO AND EVERYONE ELSE TO YOURSELF.
YOU ARE PATHETIC.
DO NOT EVER COME BACK TO KENYA.

Kivuitu is responsible for triggering the violence by failing kenyan electoral process. You can try to frame individuals that your organization targets because those are the horns of ODM and kenyans at large but you wont succeed in this propaganda. Violence started because people got fed up with the daylight stealing of peoples victory by Kivuitu, Kibaki and PNU hardliners. These are the people that should be indicted! RUTO is as innocent as the kenyan voter who was robbed.

Anonymous said...

Easy guys, As much as we may ignore it, we all are tribal. This is a weakness that the politicians are exploiting in us.Since the killings started we have seen no status quo change. Our tax money will go to re-building the torched houses.More will go to prosecuting the perpetrators of the violence and housing them in jails at the expense of tax payers.
We can come up with constitutions we think are better than the current one but i think the election will always be stolen as it was by the currently most aggrieved in 1992, and 1997.Funny enough no lives were lost then and the petition filed by Kibaki in 1992 had to be withdrawn due to pressure from the then establishment. After all things were going on right for the kenyan economy. While as we have learnt now and as always, lets know that dictators are made.

There is a guy called Kalenjin-original. You are one pathetic loser. If you think Majimbo is the way for Kalenjins, you are so mistaken. There are no kikuyus in the Rift Valley who were given/allocated land. These people are there legally, having bought the land through their hard earned money, and clever land buying Companies that were utilized to buy then subdivide large tracts of land.

Having said that, this is total nonsense. Kicking Kikuyu's out of the RValley is not a solution. People need to get off their asses and work. Zimbabwe kicked out all the white farmers and occupied their land. The lazy bastards had a 8000% inflation rate, and they now even have a $10M bill, which is slightly more than 100bucks. Just getting the land is not the solution. You have to work the land my friend. If the Kales can't work the little they have, what makes them think they will be able to take care and increase productivity of the land they want to grab?

People should co-exist, utilize the free primary school education, use basary for high school and go to the University, then stand on your own two feet. If you think your poverty was caused by the Kikuyu, then you are wrong. That is not to say that some people were not allocated land by the 1st government. But that was 50 yrs ago, and most of those people are dead anyway. And most of the allocated land is in Central province, which was the most peaceful during these who period of unrest. Take a chill pill. I don't see how fighting for that land in the RV will change your life, or my life. This is just senseless killing, and Kales will never be the sole occupants of the RValley, even if they fight kikuyus for 100 years. Stop this nonsense and coexists. There are many more ways of making money rather than through land.

It is time for change. enough is enough. You have all seen the results of magendo and greed which are hatered and resentment. We should focus on tapping and maximizing our tourism potential. That is by making sure that all tourist potential areas i.e from coast to lake victoria and from Mt kilimanjaro to Turkana are very accessible, and that this is uderstood by everyone there by bringing out the best in everyone. We have to start somewhere.

it is saddening to read that inflammatory comment,do you want to fuell the killings?do u need to see more blood?are you kenyan even? on the contrary,if we were to have sick thoughts like yours i would do a theory-that individuals in the government are behind the killings,oh yes!with people who can plan for the ARTURS MARGAYANS to come in OUR COUNTRY,kill and assault kenyans at the standard, weild guns in our international airport, and a govt minister shamelessly say that "if you rattle a snake,it will bite' or when people were fighting in mahi mahiu he sent choppers with police shooting maasai's,or when a war was taking place in mt.kenyan and not even the cardinal said anything, nor the president,to make it worse the police even barred hon ruto and others from giving the displaced any kind of aid,now those are pple with evil minds, and with moi on their side they planned the chaos in the rift not knowing it will go over board, shame on you because as of now no one is talking about naivasha as if the ppl there are second class kenyans and the govt has made the worst mistake by taking them back to their ancestral homes which is in the rift valley to some,do you think the pple being chased from the rift will be safe if they attempted to go back, lets talk of nyachae and his vijana, was he arrested?or wanjala and the govt car full crude weapons, was he arrested?all these pple are govt sympathisers,i could go on and on,have you thought about that, besides did you know the D.O,D.C and the top police official in HON rutos backyard are from central as he pointed out in an interview at K24 with geff koinange, well if some one planned the chaos it must be the govt not HON RUTO.I could educate you more........

Anonymous said...

now thats a very intresting theory i have just read,i think the writer meant mt.elgon which is where ppl were dying and the police were instructed not to allow HON,RUTO and company to give them aid,i might add in the latest assassinations of the ODM mps, lets revise nyachae and vijana,or wanjala and the weapons, and the mungiki that killed pple in naivasha, why are we not talking about that,am copmletely saddened by the cardinal njue who should have been mediating the talks but was seen to be partisan from day one,and tribal if i may add,the govt is simply trying to show kenyans the type of MAJIMBO they meant, not the one that ODM meant, kenyans are not stupid any more,we know govt is behind all this..

I am deeply disappointed with whoever wrote such comments regarding the violence in Rift Valley and other parts of the country. If we are sane to the fullest, then I think the article is misleading and the author is more of a perpetrator of the violence than a reconciliator.Everybody in the world knows the root of the violence and blaming Hon. Ruto for the skirmishes is a mere 'verbal diarrhoea' that has no roots and meaning. The truth of matter is that the viloence were sparked off by the broad day rigging of polls by the so called 'wenye Kenya' (owners of Kenya). We queued for hours to exercise our democratic right and all of a sudden a group of individuals come up and changes the whole scenario.Imagine if it were your son or daughter at school, after studying and researching for longer hours and spending sleepless nights reading, then comes the final exams, somebody else is given his or her marks. How much pain will you feel? That is what the majority of Kenyans who wanted change were denied leading to the post election violence.Hon. Ruto is as innocent as a baby as far as the skirmishes are concerned. If Mr. Kibaki and his team had not flawed the elections, I dont think that this would have happened. If this is so, then who are we to blame, the source of the river or the running river. The source is the major party and has to be regulated inorder to avoid the noise of the river as it flows.

Man reading this comments is making me dizzy. Now I see what our brother's and sisters in Ethiopia and othe neighboring countries have been going through. Friends neighbor's class mates etc are begining the decent to a point of no return. this winner losser mentality may boil over. So far nobody seems to aknowledge that the fact that time is not there for some of the Key players in this decent. The least they can do is set up a transparent system that that will eliminate the desire for magendo, greed and egocentricity. The leaders set the pace and the rest will follow. If the leader is crazy then everyome becomes so.

Please dont rubbush this.i have been looking seriously at the frequency of the genoside perpetrated by the kalenjins against kikuyus every election time. This is basically to deny them the right to vote in the rvalley so that kales can dominate the, especcially in multi-ethnic settlements. the information we have after elections show that killing kikuyus was a plan hatched by ODM as a last resort if they lost the elections or won.it is pure murder.they preached hatred against kikuyus in their dialects so that the world wont know.copies of the pre-election strategies for ODM are in circulation in NBI.Anybody interested?

Anonymous said...

Those saying its rubblish please go to the Daily Telegraph(link below) and read the story about the Kalenjins training camps to kill even more kikuyus if the talks fail! The Daily Telegraph and the author of this story are not related. So are the nay sayers attempting to say we are all crazy!

Wake up people! If you believe it go to 2nd link and sign the petition so that the planners and killers can be brought to justice.

raila made an memorandum of understanding with Sheikh Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Leaders Forum, in which Odinga had allegedly stated his intention, if elected, to

‘within six months, rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Sharia as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions’.

The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya released a statement in which church leaders said Odinga

‘comes across as a presumptive Muslim president bent on forcing Islamic law, religion and culture down the throats of the Kenyan people in total disregard of the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of freedom of worship and equal protection of the law for all Kenyans.
The idea was simply to have the Luo tribe, mostly Muslims, to take over Kenya from the inheritors of colonial power, the Kikuyu, and bring the country under Sharia law, kick out the Western investors in the nation that had made it one of the most stable nations in Africa, and supplant those Western investors with wealthy Arab oil money. It all failed. Then Odinga yelled election fraud, and put his Luo Islamofascists into the streets of Nairobi to “protest” by murdering, raping and maiming Kikuyu people, including the recent burning alive of a church full of Christians.

[ … ] So, when a man like Raila Odinga is linked with Abdulkader al Bakri, you are not making a minor connection, but one directly into al Qaeda. [ … ]

Then there is Raila Odinga’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Moslems in Kenya to turn the Nation into an Islamic State. Here is an excerpt from that agreement

1 Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions.

2 With immediate effect dismiss the Commissioner of Police who has allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists to oppress the muslin community
g) Within one year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters. [Note: everywhere in Kenya, not just in “Muslim declared regions.”]

The entire document is really quite an eye-opener, but the import of it is most chilling, considering the connections to Al Bakri and gaddafy. Add that in with suspicious assassins at hand and one really does start to wonder just what is up with Raila Odinga.

A quick recap on Raila Odinga:

-Son of a former leader Oginga Odinga
-Utilizing a position of power to enrich his family business
-Utilizing a position of power to get contacts with a Saudi backer of al Qaeda
-Utilizing a position of power to get contacts with the Libyan leader Mohammar Gaddafy
-Utilizing a position of power to assure himself of petty luxuries, junkets and spending time with the rich and powerful across the globe

-Seeking to influence the constitutional drafting committee to ensure that the Prime Minister under the revised constitution will be more powerful than the President
-Feeling “owed” the Prime Minister’s position
-Signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Muslim population (roughly 10% of Kenyan’s are Muslim) to shift Kenya towards Islam and becoming an Islamic state.
-Utilizing his contacts to bring in political advisor Dick Morris
-And close association with US Senator Barack Obama

So, to sum it up: Mr. Odinga feels ‘entitled’ to be Prime Minister of Kenya so as to turn it into a Sharia law following Islamic State.

I really wonder if the supporters of Ruto can tell the world how the wonder mp managed to gun 78000 plus votes while his opponents had over 20000 votes in a constituency that had 88000 registered voters. Repeating a lie several times does not make it right. Am a resident in eldoret town. I can point out to you homes that were torched on 29th before the elections results were announced. Ruto, Kosgey,Bett and the rest know what role they were playing in all the madness that rocked Kenya.

Its common knowledge tha moi stole election twice yet not asingle finger was raised against him. yet when a kikuyu is alleged to have done the same, all hell breaks loose. Woo unto them who alienate others. The justice of the land may never catch one but there is one that will never be compromised. Yes one that is above us all and who made the tribes. I wonder if we have succeeded in alienating the kikuyus as we really wished!

The day of reckoning will set some day. And indeed it has started Brothers and sisters in the Lord wait for God's mighty justice. Indeed this pharaoh you see before you now will be no more!
